Proper mindset and thinking big
One of the most important things I’ve learned over the years is the role of mindset in achievements. For many is all about ‘If I have X or Y,” they would most certainly succeed. From experience, I got to say Sorry mate, that’s not how it works. It’s all about having the right mindset. If your head is clouded by the obnoxious and persuasive influence of self-doubt, it will find a way to haunt you and take control of your present.

Evolution of a musical instrument.
“Love is like playing the piano. First, you must learn how to play by the rules. Then you must forget the rules and play from your heart.” I found this interesting quote about Pianos while looking for information last night, I don’t remember who wrote it but the quote was so in tune with what I was thinking at that time that this morning I wrote it down not to forget it. As a token of appreciation for this wonderful instrument and the joy it brings to days, why don’t we dive deeper into the history of this one of a kind musical instrument.

Cul de sac
As soon as the elevator door opens, a well-appointed lobby welcomed her with open arms. “Miss Bublik will be with you shorty, please take a seat.” With that cold sentence still ringing in her ears she sat in the furthest chair available. Impressionist paintings adorned the faint pink walls that surround her. On her left, a glass window makes the entrance to a bigger hall, the hive of activity where all this magic happens rest behind that glass window.

The longest night
“Dear, wake up, did you hear that noise?” Said Hugo to Sussette trying to keep his composure. They could not see anything from their bunk window, the moonless night covered the ocean with its black veil as usual. From starboard, an almost infinite blackness meets the horizon. By this time of the year, cold wind from the North brings a mist so thick that you could almost cut it with a knife.

The Bluebird K7 recovery
Pablo Picasso once said: "The purpose of art is washing the dust of daily life off our souls." Any form of art is capable of doing so. Can you imagine that something you created could inspire and change the course of History? Donald Campbell's body and his outstanding Bluebird were found thanks to a song. Never underestimate the power of art, any form of art.

Vangelis is no longer among us
This morning I received the sad news about Vangelis passing. Due to a difference is time zones, I got the message around 4am and it was near 8am when I saw it. Since I was 12 years-old I began to collect his records. To all the people I hanged out with it was odd, how can a kid that listens to Kiss or Poison can be so enthralled by this slow building tunes that keeps going and going in this (according to them) shapeless boring meander.

Maurice Ravel's Bolero
“Works of art make rules, rules do not make works of art.” This famous quote by the master composer of the Impressionistic era Claude Debussy summarizes the true essence of a work of art. There should be no boundaries when it comes to creating something that can stand the passing of time, with this piece, this is not the case. We assume that your most accomplished and renowned work as a composer must be something that shows compositional magnificence. A composer’s masterpiece considered “rubbish” by the same composer is not what we can catalog as fulfilling creative work.

The Panama Canal
Is it really ok to do the unthinkable? to be one of those that dared? When we turn the pages of history and everything has been said and done, who are the ones that will be remembered? The ones that comply? We know that history is written by the winner, to be that, you have to go against all odds. “Nothing that results in human progress is achieved in unanimous consent. Those that are enlightened before the others are condemned to pursue that light in spite of others.” I know that this famous quote by the great explorer Christopher Columbus comes in handy with the scope of my topic. This quote speaks about the true nature of those who dare to go above and beyond to achieve greatness, one of them is without any doubt the obsession of the Old World to keep going West in search for greener pastures.

Really music lost its fun?
Yesterday, while recovering from a mild flu, I had the chance to put on my headphones and watch some music videos from my youth just for the sake of it! I went from Classic rock to glam rock in the blink of an eye, Def Leppard, Cinderella, Ratt, Poison, Skid Row and many more began to thrive on my playlist. I was just 13-years-old when “Smell like teen spirit” changed the scene. Why I was not into Nirvana is not important right now. I considered myself a connoisseur while in my teens. I bought Hysteria by Def Leppard when it first came out back in 1987, I bought “Appetite for destruction” on vinyl the same year. I took music and music taste very seriously; it was my way to categorize the people around me.
