Another Trip Into the Darkness
My skeletons don’t reside in a closet, and my demons are not forcefully tucked away in the dark corners of a metaphorical basement. Much like the heart I wear on my sleeve, the internal monsters roam freely in all the spaces of my mind. I do not deny their existence, and I know each one of them by name. I have become familiar with my darkness. I am learning to appreciate it as much as I do my light.

The Truth About Endings
During a recent hiking endeavor, I had a moment of clarity. I usually do in these situations. The trail came with many challenges; a hard map to navigate through, trails that intertwined and looped within one another, and rocky pathways. It tested me to the point where I was complaining to myself quite a bit. It was just five miles, but it felt much longer. Generally, I enjoy the scenery and quietness of the great outdoors, but this round had me praying for a knockout. I was ready to quit.

Ch 3: Follow the Red
Inspira had never traveled into the woods before, so she was unsure of how far they went. There was no direction, she had no compass, and no map. She was simply going by intuition. She was sure the Light Worker would have shown herself by now. The Lantern in her outstretched hand was her only source of light. She felt as if she had been walking for some time, but had no real idea of how long she truly had been traveling. There were no trails or markers to lead her through. It was just her and the tree’s.

Let You, Upgrade You
Who are you? Actually, the real question is, who do you want to be? If you could imagine the perfect version of yourself, who is she? Is she quiet, loud, reserved, spontaneous, adventurous, a home body. Does she hand out love letters or refuse to take shit? Does she laugh out loud or giggle gently? Is she smart or creative? Does she sing, dance, draw, play? Does she sip wine or throw back whiskey? Does she rock holy jeans or does she prefer dresses? Can she rock like no other in heals or skip unapologetically in flip flops? Does she listen to country or blast pop? If you could create the version of yourself that would make you fall head over heals in love with every part of who you are, what aspects of yourself would you stitch together to create the perfect you?

The Rise of Dark Moon Empire
If you had asked me where my home was, when I was younger, I would have told you that there were a lot of them. That was because I never really had a place I could label as, “home.” There were buildings I could return to after a long day, a few belongings I held on to for a short while, and some tangible items scattered throughout my life that were in my possession. None of those things, however, were ever really mine. I’ve had places that I lived in, beds that I slept on, and toys that I played with. I had objects that kept me entertained, but never a collection of things nestled into a place of my very own I could belong to.

Dear Me,
This is to the girl who is sprawled out on her child-hood bedroom floor. The girl whose world feels like it’s shattering apart. To the girl avoiding her full-length mirror because your face is covered in tears, and your eyes are blood shot. You’re staring up at that old ceiling, praying that it would just crash on top of you. You’re laying in that spot you always do when your world feels so out of control. That spot right at the foot of the bed. The one that has collected so many of your tears and caught your knees every time they hit the floor. That spot that always supported you when you felt as if no one else would. The wool carpet is itching your arms and the back of your neck like it always does.

Ch 2: Into the Night
Inspira looked down at her reflection in the fountain pool. A packed satchel sat by her feet. An oil lamp casted a faint light in the surrounding darkness. “Mother will be extremely alarmed when she discovers my absence in the morning,” she thought to herself. She had left a note on her bedroom dresser so the Queen wouldn’t think she had completely disappeared. It didn’t divulge much, just that she had to go do something really important and would be back as soon as she could. How was she going to tell her mother that she was leaving to save The Light? She barely believed it herself, but something inside her told her she didn’t have much of a choice.

Love You
If I told you that you are a Goddess, how hard would you roll your eyes at me? Some of you are like, “Heck ya, I’m a Goddess!” Yes girl, great! Now, how about those of you who are like "No way, not me, have you seen this hair?" How many of you avoid the mirror when you pass by it, or get ready for the day at record breaking speed because you don’t think you are worthy of the effort? What if I told you that your way of thinking is wrong, and even destructive? Regardless of the description society puts on you, you’re beautiful, and you deserve to give yourself the love you continuously dish out to others.

The Journey of the Light Muse
The night was dark due to the hidden light of the New Moon. Fog rolled across the kingdom and swirled out into the surrounding wood. A young princess snuck past the guards of the castle as she made her way to the Southern Grass. The yard was covered in tall, maze-like hedges that surrounded a large pooled fountain. “Inspira..” A low voice whispered from the dark.

The Little One
I fully believe that we never stop learning important lessons from life. Some come at us pretty hard, and others can be subtle, yet impactful. Every day, the Universe delivers little care packages of opportunity to increase our knowledge and improve our consciousness. As a parent, however, I feel like I am constantly learning something new about life, and about myself. And one evening, while doing the dishes, the Universe decided she was going to deliver a tiny package of hard learning.
