Calico Cat
It was late in the summer or early fall that Calico, the orange kitten, thought up an amazing way to welcome Fall into the valley filled with mystical creatures, fairies, unicorns, and elves. It was their home and they couldn't think of a better place to live. It was in this mystical valley where all of the mystical creatures lived that a tale had been told for many, many years.. It was a tale about finding something called "red Converse shoes". The shoes, whatever they were, were whispered to be found in a place where the famous pumpkins grew near a farm where giants tilled the ground with large creatures pulling plows. It was often referred to as the "Great Pumpkin Farm" by all of the mystical creatures that ventured only to the edge of the treeline where they could peer through the low-lying branches in hopes of seeing and hearing the hee-haw of the large four-legged creature being pulled this way and that by a giant wearing boots.

Wheatley-The Invisible Boy
Daniel McKenzie, one of the tenth-grade students at one of the local high schools, was constantly in awe of stories about people becoming someone else, like actors in a movie. He knew that actors had to spend a lot of time rehearsing for the part they were going to play. There have been numerous examples on the Internet and in reference books and magazines that described how hard it was for some actors to assume the role of a particular character. As he researched the steps that were needed for the actors to “assume” the role of the character, he was amazed at how difficult some gestures or accents or languages were to learn. He found out that each of the “traits” had to be performed in a fluid motion to appear just like the real person. These attributes were the “traits” of the character that made the character appear to be real. But there was a darker side to the equation of becoming another person or assuming the character traits that made them who they were. Daniel would discover that relinquishing or “letting go” of the learned “trait” sometimes became more difficult than first thought.

Samuel L. Raccoon
With the meanderings of the human species, ever so often a person or a group of people or some exclusive gathering finds a piece of the puzzle that, unbeknownst to them, should’ve remained undiscovered. Heretofore, the archives of mankind filled with book upon book of new and exciting discoveries, has up until now, only scrapped the surface of the yet-undiscovered truths of the unknown world beyond the tree line. Having laid aside all of one accepted understanding as to how the world should be, how people should act, how far people should be allowed to go, and how time deals with the opposition to the natural laws of nature, to find out that the laws of nature don’t really apply to all equally, can be disconcerting. It can be disconcerting in the animal world that parallels the human existence.
