I Want to be Someone Who Takes Pictures Again
Yellow hair. Lucky clovers. The lapping sea. Nervous smiles. All these things I used to capture in the clutches of a camera. One quick flick and I could freeze a moment in time and hang it upon my wall as a reminder that not all spoils of war are severed heads.

A Storyteller's Bible
I am not religious. I have never been religious. Except for the rare moment in elementary school when I thought Jesus and Santa were the same person, which led me to praying for a typewriter for Christmas, I have never believed that God exists. This belief was exacerbated in me when I didn't receive that typewriter until over five years later.

A Love Letter to the Gifted Kids with Burnout, the Kids Who Didn't Get Accepted into College, and the Kids Who Have No Idea What They're Doing With Their Lives
Four of the best years of my life Wasted on lifting the weight of a perfect GPA over my head And trading hours of much needed rest with my family

Honey, I Got Hit on by a Drag Queen
"Babe, listen--" "I am tired of listening to your pathetic excuses, Michael!" Michael Streight stared at his wife Alexia in bewilderment. The hazel eyes he looked into every night with love and adoration were now staring back at him with crazed incredulity, the bottom eyelid of her right eye twitching sporadically like it did when the kids were home.

Gaia's Grievances
I woke up in a cold sweat again. My body was half in, half out of the blankets, my nylon shorts riding up my thigh in a desperate attempt to cool my overheated skin. My shirt was glued to my back, my long blonde hair bleached with perspiration as if I had taken a shower the night before.

Peanut Buttered
Good morning, Mom. Or, at least by the time you find the corner of this letter peeking out from under the toaster, it will be morning. You'll be inserting two of those breakfast pastries you like into the slots of the toaster, even though you tell me I'm not allowed to even buy them because they are so loaded with sugar.

The Rule of Threes
Olivia Cassidy was not crazy. Sometimes she did crazy things, she knew that. But she wasn’t crazy. Her mother said so. “You’re just my quirky little duckie,” her mom would say reassuringly, pinching Olivia’s cheeks and brushing her fingers through her hair. Olivia thought maybe she was a little too old to be called ‘duckie’ now that she was ten years old, but it was one thing she couldn’t bear to part with in her old age. She liked being her mommy’s little duckie. Ducks were happy and cute, and so was Olivia. Wasn’t she?

A Second Helping of Pickles: A Day in the Life of the Celestial Wombat
Humans always assume Jesus is a straight, white man with flowing hickory-colored hair, a length of bushy beard, and an ethical sense of justice. There’s only a few things you really need to know to understand the complexity of my true personality. Firstly, I defecate in cubes. I litter tiny squares of cosmic shit all over the galaxy. How’d you think the Earth was created? No, gravity didn’t pull a million particles of dust and gas to form the planet. I just had a bit too much Taco Bell. Speaking of which, it takes me seventy of your Earth hours to digest a meal. They say Rome wasn’t built in a day and well…I guess they’re right. The last thing you need to know about me? Take a deep breath. This might be a lot for your pocket-sized human brain.
