Scarlet Witch
Although we have an idea of what the next phase of the Marvel Universe will entail, the details are a bit murky, especially when it comes to the new mini-series events coming to Disney’s streaming service. The only one I am concerned about, however, is the future of Scarlet Witch. My favorite character, one of the most powerful comic book characters ever, and a very easy character to screw up if they don’t handle it properly.

Tom Holland Is the Best Spider-Man
The best way I used to put this was; Toby Maguire was a good Peter Parker, but not a good Spider-Man. Andrew Garfield was a decent Spider-Man but an awful Peter Parker. Of course, Tom Holland is an incredible Spider-Man and adorable Peter Parker. Upon further analysis, Toby McGuire is barely passable as Peter Parker and a just awful Spider-Man.

'Civil War'
The MCU has, of course, made many changes to the storylines adapted for the screen. The act of changing a story from one format to another can not be without challenges and of course changes, especially when condensing a Universe-wide series to a single movie.

'Deadpool Kills the Marvel Universe'
All the things we love about Deadpool in a neat disturbing package. Deadpool Kills the Marvel Universe has epic fourth wall breaks and all the characters you know and love dead. You would think a mini-series whose main storyline is all the characters dying would be sad and depressing, but in true Deadpool fashion, it's badass fight scenes and comedic timing alleviate the disturbing nature of the content. Add to that, most of the heroes (and villains) die in graphic but ridiculous ways, a lot of them being beheaded.

'Black Panther'
I have had this conversation many times, with many different people, but I normally get so angry I can’t formulate a solid argument—even though I’m right—so here we go. Certain people have told me that absolutely nothing in Black Panther's plot is political. Nothing... not the villain's entire motivation or 90 percent of his dialogue.

'House of M'
I decided because it’s one of my favorite Marvel Comics storylines we should delve a little deeper into House of M. This storyline was included in my article about Scarlet Witch as supporting evidence as to why she’s is the strongest hero in the Marvel Universe (a position I stand by wholeheartedly).

The Underrated Women of Marvel
Looking into Marvel comics, I would like to point out some of the women of the Marvel who are often forgotten despite their great power. First up is Spectrum, who is rumoured to also be introduced in Captain Marvel. We should mention that Monica Rambeau was the first female Captain Marvel and was such most of her career in the Avengers. She became Spectrum after taking on the name Photon and Pulsar.

Scarlet Witch vs. Captain Marvel
Kevin Feige called Captain Marvel “the most overpowered hero in the MCU.” Well, the only way that could possibly be the case is if he completely ignores the powers and abilities of Scarlet Witch and has no intention of introducing other heroes that would easily overpower Ms. Danvers (Vulcan, Skaar, Grandmaster, Phoenix Force I could go on and on). The unfortunate truth is that if they are going to make her as “overpowered” as he seems to think she is they would have to ignore big gaping weaknesses.

Captain Marvel
I thought that before Captain Marvel is released we should talk about her powers, and what her role in the Marvel universe is. Carol Danvers was actually Ms. Marvel and didn’t take the mantle of Captain until 2012. As Ms. Marvel and Captain Marvel are both powerful characters but have some huge weaknesses, that would make her existence in the MCU a bit useless if they are going to be at all comic book accurate.

Ocean Deep
He was like an ocean, glittering and beautiful on the surface. At first glance, he seemed soft and comforting and warm. Unable to resist the glimmer of his water and the deep comforting scent of the air around him she steps closer to the edge of his waves. His waves lapped against her pulling her closer to him, she smiled wondering what it would be like beneath the surface, giving herself completely over to him. As she dove into his waters she sunk beneath the calm surface and she began to discover the vastness of his depths. Directly above her lived a serene blue light that she watched with wonder as she fell deeper into him. The waters started to get dark and cold, forms cloaked in darkness began to surround her. The dark shapes began to move around, but every time she felt scared or lost she looked up and saw his light. She didn’t swim long in the openness of him before she felt the need to shrink back into herself. She wraps her arms around herself letting her body sink lower into the cold water she starts to struggle beneath the forms swimming around her, careful not to startle them. Wrapped in herself she struggles to find warmth, the forms around her begin to get closer. She looks towards the surface looking for any glimmer of the light she once saw in him but the darkness was deep and she couldn’t find any trace of who she saw before she entered the water that now consumed her. She longed for the time where she could watch him from the sandy shores, she longed for a time of wonder and warmth, she longed for some distance to separate them, some distance to let her catch her breath. His water filled her lungs starving her of air, water that once seemed so warm and calm was now strangling the life out of her. She was filled with a sadness that sunk her lower into him, she looked toward the surface but all she saw was darkness, a deep black closing in around her. She was now lost to the world, cut off from everyone except for him, she was isolated and wanted nothing more than to see the world that he had taken her from. She wanted out and he wanted her warmth so he wrapped around her and held her tight unwilling to let her go. She wanted out but she was unable to swim upward, unable to do what she physically could to escape because although her lungs were taken by water her heart was taken by him. She couldn’t leave him, she couldn’t forget the warmth that he had given her, the love that he had made her feel. She screams out unable to make a sound, no one around to sense her suffering. The grasp he has on her leaves her feeling the world, the life, the hope leave her body. And still, she feels she cannot leave, she is afraid of being without his beauty more than she is afraid of suffocating, for the starvation of air would feel sharper on the surface without him. Without him, she would fall into deep waters of her own, unable to breathe, think, or scream, and alone she would be suffocating on a surface filled with air, and that would be so much worse than drowning here, now, into him. She hits the bottom of the ocean, she gives into the darkness that won’t let her go, she releases her struggle and lets him consume her. She closes her eyes, stills herself, and lets him have her.

Silence
The silence woke her, the darkness was so deafening that her body could not ignore what wasn’t being said. Every cell in her body was screaming at her but no one could hear. She clawed and climbed attempting to escape the captivity that her thoughts had banished her to, but the higher she climbed the more she realized that the hole she was in was never-ending. She was unable to feel even herself, she wasn't even sure if she existed anymore. The only thing she had felt lately was the breathlessness that took her chest when the world started closing in on her. The walls threatening to crush her, her own body threatening to collapse in on itself. She could not breathe, she could not talk, or scream, she couldn't even cry. For crying would express an emotion and she no longer had any use for those. The cold, vacant, cavity that held everything vital for life was uninhibited by anything that made her feel alive.
