Diary entry: One year had passed since I'd gotten my wings, so I was seven at the time. I was flying back to my little hut after a long hunting trip, the animals seemed to have been hiding from me that day. I had snagged a few jackrabbits, I was so proud of myself for catching them. I landed on the large balcony of my hut that was nestled in the tall trees that were planted a few years back. The smell was always so sweet when I came flying back, the bright leaves rustled and made quite a calming noise, and birds flew in and out of the windows. At least, it usually did. Something was off today, something wasn't right. The birds were hiding, the leaves were still, and the air smelled of something I didn't know, but it didn't smell good. The inside of my hut was wrecked, books all over the floor, curtains ripped from their hooks, fruit and cold meat spread everywhere! It was a total mess, I walked around very confused, I called for my parents, but there was no response... and then I saw the red stuff. There were streaks of wet, warm, red stuff, all over the walls near the back door, and the rear windows. The smell reminded me of the taste I get when I bite the inside of my cheek and I bleed a little. Bleed. Blood. It was blood- I had come home, to find the inside of my hut covered with blood. I flew out of that hut faster than a starving cheetah chasing a gazelle. I flew for hours before finally returning to my hut, I tidied it up, cleaned up the blood, and set everything back to how it was. I mourned for a whole year before I started living normally again. The next three years were peaceful. Lonely, but peaceful, I ate well, and had many long flights around the continent, by the time I was ten, I knew every nook and cranny of pantala. I was having a rather quiet morning on my eleventh birthday, eating bugs coated in honey, (YUMMMMM) and basking in the early morning rays. Just another peaceful day of loneliness. Or so I thought- There was a commotion, coming from the trees, birds, and all the creatures of the forest as something came barreling through. A blur of black scales and bright blue fabric rushed past me, collapsing in a heap on my balcony. This made me drop my treats, (Which was VERY RUDE, by the way-) and jump around in fright. The first thing that came to mind was what happened to my parents was now going to happen to me. But all it was, was a strange jet-black dragon with the night sky for her wings. She seemed to be wearing a bright blue sash of some sort, it would've looked quite pretty if it wasn't coated in blood. I had freaked out a little at the sight of blood, even after all this time, the memory of what I saw that day was engraved on my brain. I ran inside and grabbed a bucket of water, (it was rather cold this early in the morning) and dumped it on the black dragon. She started yelling and flinging about, knocking over my plants and my lovely little chair I'd made a few weeks ago. Now that she was up, I could see that she was covered with open wounds, blood dripping from her body, down to my balcony, and then running over the side with the water. She was in terrible shape, she nearly had fallen over the side, (and it was a long way down, so that would've hurt!) but I grabbed her sash thing and pulled her into my hut. She hissed wildly at me when she saw I was touching her sash, and I had no clue why! That is until I saw what was in the sash. Turns out it was more like a sling of fabric, woven together in spots to create some sort of swing/cradle thing. Inside, poking through the top, was an egg. Now it was rather normal for dragons of Pyrrhia to be here in Pantala, but wasn't really a "Go out and make a bunch of friends!" kinda dragon, so this was completely bewildering to me. After a few hours of sleeping, eating, gentle words, and some coaxing, (Seriously, this lady was PARANOID!-) she finally told me what happened. "There's a group, they call themselves the poachers, they took a page from Burn's book and go around, hunting strange looking dragons, extremely pretty ones also, or even dragons they don't like. They catch them, raise em like cattle if they're still young, then they slaughter them and use their scales for art, decor, even things that you wear!" The lady went on to say that her egg was spotted by said group, and now they were coming after them. There was a noise outside, the lady snapped up, thrust her egg at me, and said, "Take care of my boy- His name is starsweeper. He's a hybrid, Ice/Nightwing. Just don't let them find him." Then she took off, leaving me in shock. I have an egg, in my talons, an egg. A hybrid no less, like me- By the time I came back down the earth, the lady was long gone, I started gathering everything I needed, my books, some food, an old map of pyrrhia my parents had, and a few other things. There was no way I could stay here, my house had the lady's blood all over, who knows what that'll attract. I was grabbing the last of my stuff when I heard a roar, not just any old roar, it was a roar filled with pain and agony. The sound of a dragon dying by another dragon's claws. I panicked and flew, the egg pressed tightly against my chest as I flew faster than I'd ever flown before. (They say fear is a great incentive to do things you can't. whoever "They" were... they were right!) I flew straight to Pyrrhia, thank ClearSight there was no hurricane that day. I landed exhaustedly on the shores of Pyrrhia, and after a brief nap, I took off again. I was taken away by this place, it was huge, and all the new smells and sights, it was amazing! I had flown for about an hour before coming upon a large forest, it definitely wasn't as tall as the one I used to live in, but it was still wonderful. I dug a hole near where I was going to live, and when it was quite deep, I put the egg in the hole and covered it up, then I marked the tree I hid him next to. (Don't judge me! I didn't know how to take care of an egg!?) After I cleared a big (ish) space, I started building. I used to help my parents build things all the time, never huts, but I had the jist of it. . . . It was TERRIBLE at first, it was leaning, and things kept falling off. So yeah, it took me quite a few tries to get it safe to live in. After about three days of non-stop building, tearing down, and rebuilding... I finally got it right. I started setting up on the inside, putting my books away, creating a sort of nest for the egg, and attempting to make it look like a home. Then my stomach rumbled, (I'd never been so hungry in my life-) I realized I hadn't eaten in days. I left the egg in the hut and went looking for food. I'd found a few berry bushes and a good amount of rabbits, squirrels, and large birds. I liked this forest, it was quiet, full of food, and a great place to hide. Two years had passed, and life was great. Starsweeper had hatched, he was just starting to talk and flap his little wings. It was so cute when he wanted something, he'd point at the thing he wanted and squeak until he got that thing. He was the sweetest thing I'd ever seen, he loved meat, yet never hurt so much as a fly. Animals would walk right up to him, a DRAGON, and treat him as if he were one of them. I was happy, so very happy. That happiness did not last long though. As I was coming back from hunting for a snack, I knew squirrel was his favorite, so that's what I got. A nice, fat, juicy squirrel for lunch. I had trotted into the room, acting all very regal, like I was feeding a prince. I opened my eyes... and my heart dropped. He was gone. He was taken. No, he wasn't taken, he was KILLED. Those monsters of dragons had found him, and had taken him from me- I ran, flew, climbed, and screamed until my lungs stopped working. But I never found them. I sat in the little house for hours. Violent but silent sobs shook my body that day, I thought it would kill me. I woke hours later, curled around a single scale I'd found amid the blood scraped across my floor. It took a few weeks for me to gain my voice back, and a few months for me to gain enough strength to move on from that place. I flew. That tiny scale wrapped around my wrist in a sort of bracelet, a promise that I would find a way to bring him back. I flew around pyrrhia for a year before I gave up, I swiveled around and started heading back towards Pantala. I was almost to the shores when I saw it, a mountain, huge mountain. I'd seen it on maps, and in the distance when I was on my journey here. When I landed in a small cave nearby to scout the mountain, I was surprised and confused, I'd never seen anything like it, dragons of all tribes, even my own, living together, learning together. The sight pulled me closer, I had to see it closer, I had to feel the strange feeling it was giving me. As soon as I touched down, very friendly dragons crowded me, asking me questions. They were all smiling, oohing and ahhing at my wings and antennae. It wasn't long after that, that I had signed up for this place. JADE MOUNTAIN ACADEMY. In the few short weeks that I've lived here, I have made five friends, one friend might be a little more than a friend, (AHEM, SHUSH, I am NOT blushing--) Another friend has become my bestest friend in the world. He had found a piece of animus-touched paper, which I used to recreate little Starsweeper's egg. Now with the help of my friends, I can properly raise him, in this safe place, away from harm, and live a sweet, happy life. I'll definitely say that keeping a diary was an excellent idea, and I'll try to keep writing. But that's all for now, I gotta head to class!

A Random Story Clip #2. Content Warning.
Captain Phoenix was known for her adventurous spirit and reckless behavior. She always sought out the next big thing, and nothing could ever stop her. One day, she heard about an ancient relic called the obsidian stone, which was said to be hidden on a lost island in the middle of the ocean. Without hesitation, Captain Phoenix set sail with her crew in search of this elusive treasure. They braved the rough waters and the stormy seas, finally reaching the island after many days at sea. The island was overgrown with dense foliage, and the crew had to hack their way through it with their machetes. After several hours of searching, they finally found the obsidian stone. Captain Phoenix was thrilled at the sight of it and picked it up without a second thought. Suddenly, vines began to sprout from the ground and wrap themselves around the crew, pulling them up and hanging them from the tree's branches. Captain Phoenix tried to help her crew, but the vines had a mind of their own and were too powerful for her to break free. She watched in horror as her crew was slowly suffocated by the vines that hung them from the trees. As she struggled to free herself, Captain Phoenix noticed that the obsidian stone had a strange glow to it, and she felt a sharp pain in her arms and legs. She looked down and saw that her arms and legs had turned inky black, and fangs had sprouted from her gums. The curse of the obsidian stone had taken hold of her, and she was now a monster. The vines released her, and she ran back to her ship, leaving her crew behind. The curse would always be with her, and she would never be able to escape it. The obsidian stone was a powerful artifact that should have never been touched, and Captain Phoenix had learned this the hard way.

"Stop! You can't!! He didn't do it!! Let me go!" She struggles against her best friend's grip as he holds her arms behind her back. Her voice laced with fear and anger as tears drip from her chin to the ground, soaking the ground beneath them. Her lover is only a few feet in front of her on a platform, down on his knees with a sword pointed at his head. He doesn't fight, he doesn't run, he just sits there, accepting his fate. She tries desperately to scream the words that would save her lover from execution, but they don't come. They can't come, they are trapped in her throat, held by a spell he had placed on her, right before they dragged him away to the platform. He knows what really happened, and he knows what they would do to her if they knew she was the one who did it. He knew they would blame him, I mean, who wouldn't blame him, son of the high dragon, hated and feared by all. Her voice screeching across the field makes him close his eyes. He knows she will hate him forever for forcing her to let him take the fall, but at least she'll be alive. She beats, kicks, screams, bites, anything to try and escape her best friend's grip. She just about kneed him in the chest when she saw the glint of the sword being raised. "NO!!" The sword flies forward, embedding itself into his chest. Her screams and cries break the hearts of everyone present, including him, causing him to gasp and sob as blood pours out of his wound, a puddle forming around him. He takes a couple choking sobs before slumping down to the platform floor, staring with blank, empty eyes. She's finally released and runs to his side, kneeling next to him, she pulls his lifeless head into her lap and sobs into him. With his death, his spells die as well and she whispers to herself, "It was me- It was me-" over and over. Her best friend slowly walks up to her, listening intently as she mutters. "What are you saying..." She holds his body tighter before glaring with as much hatred as possible, she screams at them the three little words that would have saved him... "IT WAS ME!!" The entire field goes silent.

The Vengeful Child's Blade CHPT 2. Content Warning.
Chpt 2 Naiad is in her room, sitting on her luxurious bed. The sounds of raucous laughter and the clanking of mugs still reverberate through the halls and into her room. She has everything she grabbed that day spread out everywhere, sorting it. "This one is for Clay, this one is for Marie, and this one is for Jackle." This went on for a couple of hours, and then she went around the ruins, setting the little trinkets outside everyone's door, a silent gesture of her appreciation for the family she had found in this unlikely place.

PROLOGUE seventeen years ago . . . The rain was pouring, and the faint sound of bare feet slapping against wet stone echoed against the close-built houses. Her breath came out in desperate pants as she ran as fast as her legs could carry her. Still weak from recently giving birth, she held her bundled-up child close to her chest, the wool blanket quickly becoming soaked with the rain. She was in trouble, a LOT of trouble. When she was younger, she joined a group, a group of thieves and murderers. Back then, she didn't fully understand what she was doing, and by the time she realized that what she was doing was very wrong, it was too late to turn back. There was this one guy, though, who helped her at least avoid going on raids, which meant everything to her. But, as these stories usually go, they end up falling for each other, which breaks one of the most important rules of the group. Members are not allowed to form relationships with other members, love creates weakness, and weakness will destroy us. Their love grew and grew, and a tiny, wailing gift, was the result of it. Unfortunately, shortly after finding out she was pregnant, they were found out, and all hell broke loose. The leader sent for them, but she was already gone. With the help of the man she loved, she was able to escape and hide in a hospital for the entire nine months. She had many close calls, for some members of the group checked in on the hospital nearly daily, but she was able to find a hiding spot, although it got harder and harder as she got bigger. unfortunately, not even three days after she gave birth, she was found, the nurses "accidentally" made a big mess, blocking the members, making it so she could get away. It didn't take long for the leader to find her, he started to follow her, slowly creeping closer. She ran hard and fast, arriving at an orphanage, where she left the child at the doorstep. She ran in a different direction, down a dark alley, hoping to lead them away from her child. It was a mistake, for she ran straight into the leader... and his blade. Her gasp was silent as she took a few steps back, the sword sliding out of her chest with a wet, bloody squelch. Her body fell to the floor, and her last whispery words were of a prophecy...

The Secret of the Celestial Wolf
This is a story of how a sweet little werewolf girl goes from innocent, kind, loving, and just a bundle of happiness to a badass killing machine who would gladly kill humans on sight. It starts here, at a prison. Well, actually, it starts with this guy- Marek, who is being taken to a prison cell by a couple of human guards. yes, human, you heard me, you're probably wondering why I said human, weird right? Well, here's why, I'm a werewolf, what, werewolves exist!? You like my sarcasm? yes, we do exist, at least in this world, we do. Anyway, this Marek was led into the human prison, thrown into a cell, and locked up. Coincidentally, his cell was right across from mine. I was still naive and ignorant during a good half of this story, so I hid at the back of my cell, in the shadows, terrified of everyone and everything. Marek, in his own cell, got up and dusted himself off, he grumbled a little, "they could've at least been a little gentle-" a giggle comes from the shadows of the cell in front of him. yup, that was me, I giggled, yuck- Marek tried to get a good look at me, but really all he could see were two glowing eyes, each a different color. It wasn't bad enough to be a werewolf in a human city, nope, I had to be different as well. One eye red, the other yellow, I also had tiny black nubs, like baby sheep horns. I was very different than normal werewolves, which made humans even more scared of me than usual. He walked up to the bars of his cell and tried to look closer, he called over, "And what's so funny little girl?" I ofcourse whimpered like the ninny I was, he smiles at me, like he enjoyed me being scared of him. I whispered, "n-nothing sir, i-i'm sorry" he chuckled, "there's no need to call me sir, little girl" I shuffled forward a little, and Marek takes a couple of steps back as I came into his view. "You're ... you're a werewolf!" I nodded and looked down at the floor, "I know- I'm a monster, a freak." he went back up to the bars of his cell. "hey, you're not a freak, you're just ... I didn't expect to ever see a werewolf-" I look at him confused. "what do you mean?" he gets this downcast look on his face. "I thought all werewolves were hunted to extinction-" I was startled, to say the least, what did he mean, "hunted to extinction?" He notices my confusion and worried expression, and ofcourse, like the nice guy he is, he tries to cheer me up. "well, uh, I'm Marek, what's your name, little girl?" It takes me a second to realize that he's talking to me. "uh, it's- Nirala, Nirala Gateway." He again looks startled, like, how many times will this guy jump at such random things? We sit and chat for a few hours, then he asks me a question. "what did you do to get thrown in prison?" He looks at me like he's thinking that I don't seem to be able to do anything more wrong than throwing a piece of trash on the ground. I shake my head, "I didn't do anything, they threw me in here ... because I'm different-" I sigh and lean against the wall, we're both sitting on the floor now, it gets tiring just standing for hours. "I thought I could try living here, after what happened to my parents, I had to live on my own. when I turned nineteen, I decided to try to make a life in the city" I scoff, "you see how well that went, ten minutes within the city and I end up in here-" He nods as if he understood what I was going through. "what uh- may I ask, what happened to your parents?" His voice was soft now, gentle, which I guess was nice. "they died- I think, I don't actually know what happened, I was ten, I just came back from berry picking and ... they were just dead-" Marek looks at me sympathetically, "I lost my parents at an early age as well, I was 6 when they died, they were poisoned by a scorpion fish." He looks kinda sad about it, even after all those years. At least three more hours passed, and the sun started to set. Our conversation melted into silence as we ran out of things to say, it was quite boring in here, nothing to do, nothing to at least listen to. I nearly fell asleep when there was a clanking sound, then footsteps and keys jingling. Marek smirks, "And here my friend and I thought it was gonna be a boring night." Two guards walk up to the cells, one stands in front of my cell, and the other glares at Marek. I wish I had slashed their ugly faces then and there, but I was too worried about what was happening at the current moment. Marek stands up, curious about what's happening. The guard that's in front of my cell unlocks and opens it, he then proceeds to grab my arm and start yanking me towards the exit. Marek stands a little straighter, "hey, what are you going to do with her?" the second guard smirks at him, his voice starts to raise a little, "hey, why are you taking her!? hey, HEY!" I started to panic, "Marek! where am I going? MAREK!" He starts banging on the bars, I could still hear his yells as I get dragged away and thrown onto a platform. Dozens of people were standing on the other side, watching. I stood up and they all glared at me, a guard shoved me toward a tall wooden pole sticking out of the platform. He pulls my arms painfully around the pole so that my back is pressed against it. A rope was tied around my arms and legs, and wood started to get piled around my feet. People cheered as the wood got piled higher, I still didn't know what was going on, until they brought over a torch. The people cheered louder, and the torch was lowered, flames flickered and leaped onto the wood. The entire wood pile lit up, and flames jumped at me, searing the fur on my feet. It didn't hurt at first, but the pain quickly became unbearable. My screams filled the air, and the filthy humans cheered louder and chanted, "down with beast!" over and over. The fire traveled up my legs to my knees, and my screams turned to shrieks of pure terror and pain, my fur turning black. My voice went to notes I didn't even know I could hit. My vision started to get fuzzy, and my head throbbed. Then something incredible happened. First, the ground started rumbling, and a deep menacing growl ripped through the air. The humans went still, I screamed until I blacked out, the fire still burning. Everything went silent, everything was still, the people stared at me, not knowing what to do, a guard came up to me and poked me with a stick, they must have thought I was the one who made the loud growl. Hah, idiots- The prison exploded, and large stones and debris flew everywhere. Some humans were hit by flying rocks and fell to the ground, I was unconscious the whole time this was happening. The guards ran around frantically, trying to figure out what was going on, at least ten guards had shown up by the time the debris and dust cleared. Women screamed, and men grabbed their families and ran to their homes, children cried at the sight that was before them. Sun shone off its scales, its wings created mini tornados, and smoke streamed from its nostrils. A dragon had exploded from the prison and was now hovering above me, the flames quickly went out, blown away by the gusts of wind made by the dragon. It opened its talons and snatched up the pole and my unconscious body, and flew towards the mountains. The humans watched as the dragon faded into the sky.

Chapter 2: Strange feelings "Of course, it just had to be pouring rain tonight-" I grumbled as I snuck along the dark road in my four-wheeler. I had kept the lights off and put on my night-vision goggles, so I was almost undetectable. The mud got worse as I rolled up to the little shack. I slipped out through one of the back doors, then snuck closer. I was on high alert, looking for the man who had managed to hack into top-secret government files. I was soaked when I finally located the little door at the back of the shack. I slipped inside and looked around, there were two levels, the lower one was mostly empty, all except for a small table and chair. The table was littered with papers and what seemed to be food wrappers. Stairs lined the left side of the wall, and a soft blue glow was coming from the top. I took a gun from its holster on my hip and headed up the stairs, but every other step creaked, so I started skipping steps. The second level was much different than the floor level, with tables everywhere, and computers, laptops, papers, and weapon boxes littered the tables and floor. "What is all this?" I said, I looked around, then I went to the nearest computer and sat down in a large cushioned chair. I hit the space bar to wake it up, and the screen opened and glowed the soft blue I had seen before, I was about to set my fingers on the keyboard when I heard a noise behind me. I reached for my gun, but I was too slow, he was already there. He tossed my gun to the floor and knocked me to the ground, I got up pretty quickly, but he charged at me, pinning my arms above my head against the wall. I kicked and wiggled, but it didn't seem to do anything, he just smiled at me with his pearly white teeth. "Little bird~ You're here, I was starting to worry you wouldn't come~" His voice was deep and calm, it seemed to slither in and out of her ears. "Why are you trying to steal info from us, what are you going to do with it?" He chuckled, "why, money ofcourse, I'm going to sell it for a good amount of dough." I tried to wiggle free again, but he only gripped my wrists harder, he leaned closer, our noses were almost touching, and chuckled. "You can't sell our information! You'd be putting hundreds of lives in danger!" his smile flickered, but he kept his gaze on me. "You can't be that cold-hearted, to not care about the lives of innocent people-" I reached for my gun with my foot as I talked. "So, just let me go, and we can help with whatever trouble you're in, give you protection, you don't have to do this." He wavered for a second, then his grin returned, and he leaned closer to my ear, barely brushing it with his lips. A shiver shot down my spine, my chest felt warm, and heat crept into my cheeks, "you really thought I'd trust you that easily, little bird?" He let go of my wrists and put his hand on the side of my head, I needed to fight him, escape. I couldn't move, my body refused to listen to my head, I gasped softly, he had kissed my neck. I was about to hit him in his stomach when his big hands wrapped around my head, I tried to glimpse what he was doing, but everything went black. I woke up an hour later on the floor of the shack, my head was pounding. I stood up slowly, pain shooting down my spine from my head, I walked to the chair and sat down heavily. I rubbed the bump that was forming, and looked around, "what!?" gone, everything was gone! The computers, the papers, even the tables, the only thing left was the chair, and a little board hanging on the wall, "wait-" there was something on the board. There was a low rumble, a car was being revved outside, I jumped to the nearest window just in time to see the hacker drive off in my four-wheeler. I cursed, kicked the chair, and started pacing, "how the hell am I gonna get him now!?" A little yellow paper on the board caught my eye, I tripped as I made my way over to the little note. I pulled it off and read it, note: "Thanks for the car Little Bird, I can't wait for your next visit, I do hope the caves are nice this time of year~" I growled in frustration, crumpled the note, and called for a pick-up. Thirty minutes later a mini-van pulled up to the shack, I climbed in and they drove me to my house, "Thanks max-" The short blond boy nodded and drove off. I walked into my house and sat heavily on my couch, the sun started rising slowly, and I dozed off where I sat, utterly exhausted. There was a shuffle to my right, I opened my eyes and was startled to see the hacker hovering above me, grinning that pure white smile of his. I panicked for a second, but then our eyes locked together, and his bright blue eyes stared into mine. My breath hitched in my throat, and I didn't want to move from that spot, he started leaning down towards me, "No, he's an enemy, bad guy, big no no!" was going through my head. I didn't care, he got closer, slipping a hand under my chin, he lifted my face, his lips brushed mine, just a little closer and... I woke up. I sat there on my couch, the sun now shining through my window, "what the f-" Heat crashed into my cheeks, turning them red. What was wrong with me, he's the enemy, why the hell was I dreaming about him!? I went to the kitchen and splashed cold water on my face, "focus, he is a threat that needs to be eliminated-" I grabbed my gear and headed for the base. I needed to get another vehicle, and I needed to get to the mermaid caves. I have one mission, find the hacker and stop him, and that's what I'm going to do-

My Hacker
Chapter one: Intruder Alert The alarm was blaring, and there were brilliant flashes of red along the walls as the emergency lights kicked on. Men in ebony suits, littered in firearm holsters and ammunition chains, quickly rushed for the command room. Nonetheless, I got there first, typing away on the large computer, trying to intercept the intruder so he couldn't access our data. The men charged in with their firearms raised, then immediately lowered them when they caught sight of me. "Lady Anniera, what are you doing here, it's not secure, an intruder is running loose!" I rolled my eyes, irritated, I sarcastically said, "Thank you, captain, I didn't notice, and the intruder isn't here" The captain looked at me perplexed, "You must be mistaken, ma'am." I turned to the captain with an exasperated huff, then gestured to the supercomputer, "Our intruder is in there, we're dealing with a hacker!" The captain's face transitions from confusion to pure shock, "A hacker!? No one has ever been capable of hacking us before!" I turned back to the computer, I wasn't gonna let this hacker succeed, not on my watch. "I understand that Captain, which means this hacker is very experienced, which also means I need to focus," I said pointedly at the captain. He nods gruffly and yells orders at the rest of his men to return to their stations. The room grew silent as the tromping of the men's boots faded down the hall, and the alarms faded as they turned off, so I brought all my focus to this hacker. I typed in the password so I could access the folders with all of our data and information, but the computer flashed red, saying "incorrect password" I starred at the screen, downright bewildered, "No, it's not, that's the password, I'm the one who created the damn password, I know what it is!" I typed it in multiple times, and each time it said the password was incorrect, I typed it in one more time, but this time, it flashed red twice and said, "reset your password?" I screamed internally. I couldn't access the folders, the hacker had blocked me out. As a last resort, I had made a hard drive that would be connected to the computer for situations like this, I ran around the back of the supercomputer. The green hard drive was sticking out of the black computer, I snatched it out and shoved it into my pocket, then went back to the front. The screen had returned to normal, and everything was still and silent, I sighed in relief. I jumped at the loud ringing sound that came from the only telephone in the room, I calmly crossed the room, picked up the phone, and brought it to my ear. "you've won this time, I won't lose so easily next time, I will find you, little bird." The voice belonged to a man, it was deep, and so silky smooth it was frightening, the line clicked, and he hung up. I stood there for a good minute, I needed to find out who that was, why they wanted our information, where they were, and how they were able to even get close to stealing our data. I immediately headed for the communications room, this room was much brighter than the control room, with people everywhere. Men and women were sitting at desks, each having their own conversations with someone on the other end of the line, everyone stopped and stood when I entered the room. "as you were" I said, they all went back to what they were doing, "Rix! I need you in the tracking room, now!" I walked into the dark silent room, which is located at the back of the communications room, at least 20 people were sitting at computers and receivers, all listening intently. A young girl, about 17, barged in with a large envelope, and a tablet in her arms, she also had a headset on, and holding back her auburn hair was a "scrunchie" that she had made out of old wires. Her golden eyes were wide with excitement, "Yes ma'am?" I walked around the many computers, to an empty seat, "I need you to track a caller." Rix nodded, settled into the chair, then plugged her headset into the computer. I went to the back wall and picked up one of the many phones that were lined up against it, then I dialed the same number the hacker used. It rang and rang, it felt like hours had gone by as I waited for the hacker to pick up. The stillness was dreadful, it appeared like everyone in the room stilled, frozen in suspense. I felt like time was slowing, the ringing seemed to get louder and louder, and, "click" he answered the phone! "ah, hello little bird, I was wondering when I would be able to hear your sweet voice." Little bird? Why had he called me little bird, and why was he talking like that? "Listen here, I am Lady Anniera, leader of this secret government facility, and I will not stand by while you try and steal information" there was a chuckle from his end of the line, "oh, little bird~" my fist had tightened around the phone. "stop calling me little bird! that is not my name!" I glanced at Rix, but she was still typing and scrolling furiously. "I like it, so I'm keeping it, little bird" Rix suddenly straightened, she turned to me and nodded, then I sighed in relief. "well, Mr. Hacker, I must go, but I will find you, and put an end to your schemes!" another chuckle resonated through my head, "I await your arrival~" the line clicked, silence instantly engulfed the room. I took a breath, then turned to Rix, "What have you got for me?" she turned and looked at the screen again, "It seems like the call is coming from an old, deserted shack of a house?" I set the phone down and took a deep breath, " Thank you, Rix" She nodded and cleaned up the desk. "Nala, get my four-wheeler ready, I'm heading out" The tall girl nodded and took off with a couple guys on her tail to prepare the stealth vehicle. I headed towards to weapons room, I grabbed a couple small easy-to-hide guns, and a switchblade. I leave the room and head to the garage, where my stealth four-wheeler was waiting for me.
