Lit Lit 4: Huck Finn
Huck Finn is our speaker in this installment of Lit Lit. I chose the “I’ll go to hell” section of the novel for two reasons: I love it, and I think it lends itself well to this. We Need More Communities
I understand that there’s an occasional push for added communities here on Vocal. I haven’t been here long enough to witness any, but there are two communities that need to exist. Two will keep the symmetry on the page better than one, and these are two separate realms, although many confuse them. I intend to push like Sisyphus for these communities to come into being.

Lit Lit: Sillyloquy
I’ve decided to take next steps (and avoid copyright infringement) and call these word substitutions Lit Lit instead of the trademarked Mad Libs. I’m starting with a series of soliloquies, sillyloquies (if you will). This one takes one of Billy Shakes’s most-memorized passages (I had to recite it in high school).

Welcome to my Wednesday think-about-something-other-than-challenge-results post! Apparently, I'm two days early for challenge results (I don't have a horse in this race). Oops! I loved Mad Libs when I was a child and love them even more as an adult. I make my own now, from great works of literature in the public domain (can't afford to face a lawsuit from the Steinbeck family).

Lit Lit 3 Results
It's time for the results of our Mad Libs from last week. The poem I used for this was Elizabeth Bishop's "One Art" (one of two villanelles that don't make me crazy, and, yes, the other one is "Do Not Go Gentle . . ."). Why do villanelles make me crazy? Too much end rhyme and too much repetition, usually of ideas that don't bear repeating. However, for a Mad Libs, I though a (good) villanelle would be fun. Instead of having participants fill in a jillion verbs, I simply conjugated the ones I asked for in the refrain.

I have often been without an answer until I realized it came from a book, or rather a novella, I read in my junior high years. No, it wasn’t for a book report. I picked it up at a sale one day, purchased it, and read it in a day.
