Process
Lit Lit 4
Welcome to my Wednesday think-about-something-other-than-challenge-results post! Apparently, I'm two days early for challenge results (I don't have a horse in this race). Oops! I loved Mad Libs when I was a child and love them even more as an adult. I make my own now, from great works of literature in the public domain (can't afford to face a lawsuit from the Steinbeck family).

How Careful Preparation Can Reduce the Risk of H-1B RFEs
Filing an H-1B petition without carefully reviewing every part of the case can create problems later in the process. Incomplete or rushed filings often increase the likelihood of receiving a Request for Evidence. Much of the review process depends on whether the petition includes the documentation U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services expects from the beginning.

Listening to Mambo No. 5. Top Story - May 2026.
I saw recently a video about a writing technique used by Stephen King. Allegedly, Stephen King listened to Mambo No. 5 so many times while writing one of his novels that his wife threatened to divorce him. Now, maybe I’m just perpetuating an internet rumor, but I decided the concept of listening to one song over and over again was intriguing to me. The idea is that endlessly listening to the same song puts you in a kind of flow state for lack of a better term. So, I thought I’d give it a try.

Turning Negatives Into Positives
Introduction When I am looking for inspiration sometimes I have negative thoughts, like the fact that most people don't see me as a creator in any way, I am just there when stuff needs to be done, and that makes things difficult and the lines from Bob Dylan's "Joey" come back to nail things home:
