Me, in all of my stretch mark glory.

Sometimes, I wonder what my life would be like if I didn’t base my decisions on how I wanted to be perceived.

No, for real. As a woman, how many times have you made a decision that affected your life in an substantial way, just to be perceived as a good woman? A loyal woman? A beautiful woman? Even if it hurt you physically, mentally, and emotionally, did you make a decision for you.. that only benefited someone else?

I’m going to ask you to do something really big today. It might be scary, it might make your heart race. You might even click off of this article and say “Hell no, I’m absolutely not doing that.” But what do you have left to lose? If you constantly give yourself away to others, you need to learn to give back to yourself.

It’s time to be SELFISH. Yes, I said it. Selfish. It’s time to let the backhanded compliments from our partners, our peers, our friends, and our family roll off our beautiful backs. We need to seize our power as women. There is no need to be a specific size, to be mean, cold, vindictive, and calculating to get our way in the world.

Let’s lead the way by being our true authentic selves. We can be who we are without folding ourselves into tiny little pieces in order to fit in a specific box, nor melt ourselves to fit another’s mold. Be your brightest light, that shining star.

It’s okay to be who you are. We no longer need the approval of others to live our biggest and boldest truths. Now, as you see, all that I have asked if you is to be yourself. Not so bad, is it? The next step is to be that beautiful person every single day of your beautiful life.

Keep going, keep inspiring yourself. Leap to new heights, express yourself in ways that you have yet to explore. Keep being that beautiful, vibrant, authentic you.

You may ask how we can do this thing called “being ourselves”, to “embrace who we are”, and I will tell you that it is simple. Start with what YOU like. What inspires you? What makes you tick? In the morning, what is the first thing that comes to your mind?

Do you like to dance, sing, write, paint? Do those things. And even if you don’t know what you like to do yet, do everything. Do everything even if you’re not good at it yet, and be sure to ignore anyone trying to get in your way.

This is your time for expansion and growth. This is YOUR time to get clear with who you are and who you want to be. From this beautiful foundation of self love and nurturing, you can be anything you want to be. But please, always make sure that you are yourself.

There is a saying that I live by that goes something like this;

“Be yourself, everyone else has been taken.” - Oscar Wilde

And did Mr Wilde grow up to do amazing things? He sure did. By defining himself. There are many role models in this world, and they did not get anywhere by fitting the mold.

When you find yourself, you break the mold. And if you become great enough, you become the mold. You become the blueprint, but wouldn’t it be even BETTER if the example that you set is for everyone to follow their own ambitions and desires?

Think of yourself as the younger you. The child version of you had so many dreams and aspirations, so many hopes, desires, and ambitions. Remember that you’re just growing still. You’ll be growing the rest of your life, and the best thing to do is to be kind to yourself.

Be kind to yourself because you are worthy of love, recognition, and kindness. You are somebody, even when the people around you just don’t know that yet. You’re already a star, beaming brightly in the sky. Believe in yourself. Your insecurities are just the secret ingredient that makes you who you are.

Embrace yourself. Embrace what you hate, so there is no room for it. In your world, there should only be room for love.

I send all of my love,

Enigmatiika.
