Lesotho has two national parks and one of them is the ever-wonderful Ts'ehlanyane National Park. Those who visit Lesotho- a country located on the borders of South Africa do not miss out on exploring this national park especially because of the biodiversity it carries with its offerings. Its altitude ranges from 1940-3112 meters, so once you go to the very peak, the sights you get to see are beyond your imagination. There are a couple of ways to explore this destination.

Lesotho

Although only a very few know the fact that Lesotho is a separate country (and not a part of South Africa), it's already a tourist magnet. You find several hotels in Lesotho that offer world-class hospitality services and one of the best here is Avani Lesotho Hotel & Casino. It's a country with mountains and valleys, so if you are someone who loves the wonders of nature, you will surely fall in love with this country and especially, the Ts'ehlanyane National Park.

Things to see in Ts'ehlanyane National Park

To be honest Ts'ehlanyane National Park is not a wildlife hub like many travellers expect it to be. But yes, you may come across some animals and birds during your exploration. What you'll mostly love about this place is the scenic beauty it holds with rivers and waterfalls. Four major rivers flow through its mountains creating a spectacular view, and this is something that you should capture into your photographic memories.

When to go there?

Well, this is a destination that the general public can visit throughout the year. However, from October to March, Ts'ehlanyane National Park enjoys warm weather, and the surroundings are also very beautiful during this time period. Keep in your mind that sometimes the evenings during these months can be interrupted by storms. From April to September, the Ts'ehlanyane National Park enjoys cold weather which says that the hiking conditions may get greater. Take your warm clothes with you for this tour.

Traveling by a vehicle

Lesotho never lacks amazing mountain passes, so a 4*4 ride to Ts'ehlanyane National Park would be highly recommended. If you are good at off-road driving, these routes are all yours, but keep in your mind that there can always be inherent risks due to poor road conditions. While you drive, you will never feel bored- all thanks to the beautiful scenery from either side. Whether your vehicle is a 4-wheeler or a 2-wheeler, the challenges are common, so be extra cautious when driving. Pay attention to the weather conditions as they are often unpredictable.

Traveling on horses

Do you believe that in Lesotho horse riding is still a popular mode of travel and transport? It's considered one of the ideal countries for horsemen, and you can try this too when you are there. Many villages here are located in mountainous areas, so horse riding makes your journey less exhausting. Some areas can even be inaccessible by vehicles, so riding a horse can be the only option in this instance. So, if you love horse riding, then this is certainly the place for you!

Hiking

If you are someone who loves hiking and has a good fitness level, hiking is the best option to satisfy the adventurer in you. There are many walking tracks for you here, and each of them contains different difficulty levels. The Cave Trail, Waterfall Trail, Circular Trail, Upper Trail, and Lower Trail are some of the most popular trails among hikers who visit Ts'ehlanyane National Park. If you take a guide with you, you won't have to worry much about safety because he knows what's what. If you don't take a guide with you, make sure you have an accurate map with you always.
