Opinion: Cannabis Shouldn't Be Illegal In America
When most people think about cannabis culture, it's not a good look. They see teenagers who pretend to smoke it so that they look "edgy," stoners who are more into getting high than anything else, and people who are obsessed with high CBD percentages - even though they don't need the weed.

California's Prop 64
After nearly a century of misinformation, people have finally taken a look at the war on drugs and found that it’s got some serious problems. Especially weed, which has long been touted as a “gateway drug” that would surely lead to a life of oral sex in back alleys to pay for it. Which is, of course, absurd to anyone who knows anything about marijuana. As a result of this enlightenment, the move to legalize weed as an alternative to alcohol has gained a lot of momentum, aided by the medicinal properties inherent to the plant. California, my adopted state, passed a proposition last year that made recreational weed completely legal…"kinda".

He broke boundaries as one of the first African-American celebrities to receive near-universal acclaim for his talents.

One of the major risks that has often been associated with cannabis use is the idea that it will act as a "gateway drug" - or that smoking pot will make someone more willing and likely to try stronger and more dangerous drugs in the future. This rhetoric is now less popular than in the past, but there are many who insist that marijuana is just a slippery slope that leads to other drugs, and a life of addiction.

This 1969 Pamphlet is the Ultimate Guide to Growing Cannabis. Top Story - May 2017.
Back in the 1960s and 1970s, cannabis cultivation was as taboo as it got. No respected book publisher would talk about how to grow marijuana - let alone describe the steps in detail. For the most part, it was one of those topics that was never broached except in closely guarded circles, in hushed voices.
