Education Majors, Their Insight
“What a child is taught, is what they become.” This is a quote, in my eyes, that reflects a teacher’s job description. When a child is taught all of the core subjects, they automatically have one that speaks to them which later becomes their life’s work. If one teacher can make that huge of an impact on a student’s life, then knowledge truly is power. The process of teaching and learning involves the concept of give and take. The teacher gives and takes that information in order to give away to another. Anyone can teach and learn information, but it’s the way how to approach the relationship in classroom with the students. The relationships between students and teachers are important because children will learn better if they feel as if they have a connection to someone they can trust. Without teachers we would not have doctors, lawyers, police officers, accountants, or scientists.

Sebastian PhillipsPublished 7 years ago in JournalI Feel Sooo ADD Today!
“God! I feel so ADD today! I can’t seem to do anything today!” I hear things like this all the time coming from people who do not have ADD or ADHD. In short, do not call your inability to focus for one day, ADD. It is not a thing that happens one day then “poof” disappears the next. ADD/ADHD is a serious learning disability and when people make light of it creates a stigma that ADD/ADHD is not a big deal.

Joseph FarleyPublished 7 years ago in JournalRebel Without a Book
Banned books has always been a subject that fascinates me. Some are banned for truly ludicrous reasons, like the previous banning of Alice in Wonderland in China's Hunan province (circa 1931) for "displaying anthropomorphised animals acting on the same complexity level as humans." Censor General Ho Chien believed, at the time, that it would teach children to view animals and humans on the same level, with "disastrous" consequences. Some, like The Diary of a Young Girl by Anne Frank, are banned for downright offensive reasons (banned in Lebanon for portraying Jewish people in "too favourable a light").
The Key to Language Learning
A lot of people want to learn a new language but quickly give up once they discover how challenging language-learning can be. I never really understood that. I’ve always been the type of person that was constantly thinking, “That can’t be THAT hard.” Because of this feeling, and for many other reasons, I decided to try to learn one of the hardest languages in the world: Chinese. Here is what I found to be helpful when learning a new language.

For as long as I can remember, I wanted to go to university, so when it got closer, and eventually came around, I was ecstatic. In September 2014, I moved into my accommodation, and I remember feeling incredibly homesick for the first couple of weeks or so. There was this constant feeling that I was going to actually be sick, but after attending some lectures and talking to a few people, it all settled down.
