An Afternoon at Alcon's Cosplay Café
Alcon 2017 was my first Alcon. It wasn't the best convention that I've been to, but I can still say that I enjoyed myself. I heard that a lot of people enjoyed the previous versions of Alcon more. Some have vowed never to return. But I will try my best to avoid discussing the AL drama here for the time being.

Shadow of War's Spotty Marketing
Shadow of Mordor, released in 2014 by Warner Bros. Studios, and developed by Monolith Games, was a bit of a shock for me. I had heard about it months in advance, but it seemed far too ambitious. My expectations were nothing short of it completely burning and crashing. And... well, it didn't. It exceeded my admittedly low expectations by quite the margin, and I was thoroughly impressed with it.

When 'Jaws' Meets 'Cast Away'
Ron Howard’s movie In the Heart of the Sea, depicts a chain of catastrophic events from 1820 that inspired the tale of Moby-Dick. Essentially, it is a story about a story, which only makes me wonder: Have Hollywood filmmakers truly exhausted all the great tales, and now have to contend with secondary resources in order to come up with new ideas?
