Donald Trump, our 45th and current president of these United States of America, is not exactly the most popular president we have had. Sure, he has tons of followers. A very large amount, in fact. But is he really making America great again? He has a long list of bad press and comments made that reflect poorly on his leadership skills and persona as a President.
My intuition told me that you are the best candidate the first time you showed on the public for the Presidential campaign. You are deemed to be different from other former U.S. presidents if you would be, as I thought then.
You have made me realize how much can happen in little over a year. I've certainly learned a lot and you have not even entered the second half of your Presidential term at the time that I write this. It doesn’t feel like it’s been a year, it feels more like it has been ten.
So apparently, the President has just become Dr. Trump because he's diagnosing the media and all of his critics with "Trump Derangement Syndrome." The symptoms as I can best describe them would be something like this:
If there's one thing that Trump can be counted on for, it’s lying and not keeping his word. Has this man kept his word on anything that he promised during the 2016 Presidential campaign? Mexico isn’t paying for the wall, the trade war that he initiated has hurt the very people he swore to protect, and he has the most anti-LGBT administration in more than 30 years. Remember that moment during the Republican National Convention when he swore that he would be a strong advocate for the gays? According to former press secretary, Sean Spicer, it was lip service to make sure he was handed the nomination.
It was bad enough that the election was stolen from the rightful winner, but Hillary made mistakes too. She got cocky and figured she had it in the bag and could help the down ticket. What’s worse is you told us that the election was rigged and your followers blew up thinking you meant that it was in favor of Hillary. “But her emails” followed every argument against her becoming President. Apparently, we were supposed to just forget that one ex-wife accused you of rape and that you lied and insulted your way to the Republican nomination. That’s just another day in the world of Donald J Trump, right?
Blackmail has often been cited, sometimes along with gratitude for the help Russia gave him in the 2016 election, as the reason Trump so adheres to Putin, as seen again in the Helsinki press conference today.
While many people are avid believers that illegal immigrants should remain illegal, a whopping 72 percent of Americans believe that all immigrants should be able to stay following proper documentation. Many people seem to think that when fellow Americans support illegal immigrants, it is some type of betrayal against America. Not true.
It's been 531 days since Donald Trump was sworn in as our commander in chief, and every single one has been doused in controversy. The right will convince you that your feminist, liberal ideas are a product of a lack of parenting, and the left will have you believing that everything is a conspiracy. The truth is much darker, and much more complicated than many can understand.
