Kamala Harris has spoken in the strongest terms yet, from any American official. Ms. Harris has called for an "Immediate ceasefire", no ifs, no buts! She is calling for a six-week ceasefire that would allow the remaining hostages to be "reunited" with their families she said. “The American public should simply accept no distractions. In our democracy, it is our duty to hold our elected leaders accountable. We do it at the ballot box.” – Wesley Clark

No one would have thought in a 'month of Sundays' that George Galloway and His Workers Party of Britain would win the Rochdale By-election. Labour's Muslim MP lost the backing of the Labour Party after alleged anti-Semitic statements. So, many pundits have proposed that Mr. Galloway won because of Labour not having a candidate. A local businessman and independent David Tully, came second.

The Day the "One Drop" Ended
The concrete bench had a cold, unfamiliar feel. Even though we had gathered at the “Jamaica Corner” at Miami Dade Community College for over a year and a half, trying to recreate the feel of home in Miami, everyone was tense. Barrington "Barry" Salmon (Yes, that Barrington Salmon) stared off into the distance. At the same time, Paul “Lurks” Fakhouri, who would later play a significant role in shaping the sound and impact of The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill, fidgeted with the pages of his textbook. There had been rumors, but we kept on holding to hope. No one wanted to believe that Bob could die. But news from everywhere kept pouring in, and it was hard to separate facts from su-su.
Geoffrey PhilpPublished 2 months ago in The Swamp Thoughts on John Updike’s Short Story “A & P”
The short story “A & P” by John Updike dealt with some very confusing internal conflicts, experienced by the main character named Sammy. I cannot say I admired Sammy for quitting in the end of the story. It seems a bit pointless to me why he quit. I can understand how Sammy was sick and tired of his mundane job. Many of us can relate to mundane aspects of jobs. Although he could’ve been more thankful that he had a job at all. However, as humans we gripe and complain and then make life changes compulsively. Many people can likely relate to Sammy at some point in their lives. I know I sure can, in some slightly different ways.
Rowan FinleyPublished 2 months ago in The SwampDoes SEIU 99 Think That Voters Are Stupid?
“OUR STUDENTS DESERVE A LEADER ON THE SCHOOL BOARD, NOT A SELF-SERVING POLITICIAN.” – SEIU 99 Mailing Last March, I called out the LAUSD Board for not doing enough to reign in Superintendent Carvalho, leading to a three-day strike led by SEIU-99. I warned the pro-public education majority that they had been elected with a mandate for substantial and immediate change and that the failed contract talks with the union representing some of the District’s lowest-paid workers betrayed that trust.

Cloud computing has now firmly established itself as a technological marvel and rightly so! After all, cloud computing promises not only innovation and flexibility, but also vast opportunities. However, the process of cloud migration can often feel like a Herculean task, especially considering that companies must navigate a vastly unknown territory. More importantly, they must figure out how they can ensure their migration journey to the cloud meets expectations of efficiency, scalability, and cost-effectiveness. This is where Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) come in handy, serving as the North Star in the world of cloud migration. They not only help companies navigate the complexities of migration, but also analyze progress, identify challenges, and ultimately, ensure the success of their digital transformation project.
Ryan WilliamsonPublished 2 months ago in The SwampWhy I Believe the Extreme Left & Extreme Right are Similar
This will be more of a rant and I may end up jumping around a lot so forgive me but in my opinion there really is not much difference between the extreme left and the extreme right in the way they vilify anyone that disagrees with them and their authoritarian nature. Sure they have separate agendas but they go about forcing their agendas in the same way as well as accuse the other side of doing what they do. Both sides think they are right and the other side is evil and as you read this and you think I am pointing to a particular ideology than I am actually talking about you. I may talk a bit about Republicans and Democrats though. Remember, Republicans have no heart and Democrats have no brain.
Ferrari KingPublished 2 months ago in The Swamp"Socially Liberal, Fiscally Conservative"
In the endless void of political ideologies, there exists a character familiar to many: the friend who proudly proclaims, "I'm socially liberal, but fiscally conservative." It's a statement often presented as a badge of rationality, a stance that ostensibly combines progressive values with prudent financial management. Yet, beneath the alleged sense of reason often lies a fundamental flaw, and one that warrants scrutiny and dissection.
William EvansPublished 2 months ago in The SwampOne person's sacrifice futile in a world that condones genocide
As Israel’s campaign of genocide heads into its sixth month, I’ve heard many people take solace from the knowledge they are “standing on the right side of history” by speaking out about the atrocities and condemning the United Kingdom government’s complicity in the ethnic cleansing being carried out in Gaza by Benjamin Netanyahu’s terrorist regime.
