Kamala Harris: "Ceasefire Now"!

Strong Words from The Vice-President.

Vice-Pres. Kamala Harris.

Kamala Harris has spoken in the strongest terms yet, from any American official. Ms. Harris has called for an "Immediate ceasefire", no ifs, no buts! She is calling for a six-week ceasefire that would allow the remaining hostages to be "reunited" with their families she said. She also said that people in Gaza are "Starving" and facing a "humanitarian disaster". Ms. Harris said the 6 weeks truce, would allow, more aid into the territory.

A Hamas delegation is currently in Egypt presumably in talks about a ceasefire. Probably with the US, Qatari and others in Talks with Hamas as well as the Egyptians themselves. However, Israel is not there because it is boycotting the talks. Israel is not attending, according to Netanyahu because Hamas have not answered two questions. Therefore, with those alleged questions unanswered, Israel is not attending the talks. Of course, Netanyahu could be stalling and for those fascists in his war cabinet, a ceasefire is the last thing they want.

Netanyahu is quite happy to keep the war going. He has always seen himself or at least he wants the Israeli populace to believe He is the Saviour of Israel. So, he believes this is his time, in a sick parody of being a Jewish Winston Churchill. He may think this is his finest hour, but many in the rest of the world do not! Also, should the war suddenly stop for whatever reason, Netanyahu might be out of power and facing charges of corruption. So, as long as this conflict continues, Netanyahu remains Israel's one and only Prime Minister.

Before the war and even now, protestors take to the streets against Netanyahu. They want him out and the hostages home, even if means, talking with Hamas and stopping the war. Netanyahu could also be clinging on to power because he knows if he upsets those far-right elements in his government, his administration will fall. So out of fear of the far-right and for his political survival, the war goes on. Also, Netanyahu by declaring he wants to bring back the hostages and destroy Hamas, has probably dug himself into a hole. However, despite delivering crushing destruction on Gaza very few hostages have come home. While Hamas remains active and is still resisting the Israeli armed forces.

Kamala Harris is to meet Benny Gantz in Washington for talks. Gantz is a member of Netanyahu's government but his visit is not endorsed by Netanyahu. Gantz might be looking to the future as he could replace Netanyahu in the future. So, is he proposing himself as a future Israeli statesman and leader?

Gantz and Netanyhau have a turbulent history and they are only together for now, because of the war. Should the war stop, Gantz could be getting ready to overthrow Netanyahu or present himself as a successor to him in a post-Israeli-Hamas War scenario. Or maybe, Gantz is sounding out the US administration to see if they would support him and others in removing Netanyahu from power?

Netanyahu, however, is not stupid as far-right as he may be. He will resist any moves to pull him from power and that is to be expected from such a canny, sneaky, operator, like Netanyahu. Netanyahu has not survived this long, without being cunning and conniving. However, this time, just maybe, Netanyhu's luck has or will right out soon.

The US, Jordan, the UK, etc, have been dropping food into Gaza to help the starving. Trucks have been allowed into the territory to bring things like flour so Gazans can bake bread. However, in what seems like a confused story, where one side says this and one side says something else, starving Gazans have been shot dead and injured.
