Inept
Never before in recent memory has there been members of Congress behaved so inept in practically every regard. They have continued to miss the boat on every piece of legislation that has come out of Washington for the past 40 years. It is then no wonder why the United States has the greatest income inequality in our nations history. The half ass approach in this latest stimulus proposal is a prime example of how far removed they really are from the plight of millions of Americas.

Bryan Watch: Nov/Dec 2020
Just Before Thanksgiving: November 16-20 Congress returned to work after a two month break, and had a relatively slow week. There were only nine votes last week, five party line and four non-party line. Steil voted with the Republicans 80 percent of the time.

Why Reagan Was A Bad, Bad Man
As anyone who knows me well will tell you, I am in no way a fan of laissez-faire economics. I believe that history has proven time and time again that industry is wholly incapable of regulating itself. Pollution, poverty, suppression of worker rights and economic stagnation have significantly increased over the last forty years, all under the banner of deregulation. This was a movement which was supposed to provide a better future for everyone, but has failed spectacularly to improve the lives of anyone outside of a privileged few.

TO BE OR NOT TO BE AT A FEDERAL LEVEL!
Up until... Well 2010, marijuana have been seen in a negative light as a "Gateway Drug." To some today, still agree with it. In recent American his-story, in 1996, California was the first state to be legalized for the use of marijuana. Now from 1996-2008, only 13 states seen the full benefit of recreational use of marijuana. Since 2010, 31 states have decided to get on board the Marijuana train as they seen be a benefit to their state economy arise and a decrease in crime rate. However, of the 44 states that are have chosen to add it in its laws for medical use, 15 states are for recreational and have set forth its laws to Decriminalize Marijuana (DM). What is DM? Decriminalization means that a state repealed or amended its laws to make certain acts criminal, but no longer subject to prosecution. Which in terms means that if your state has decriminalized or is decriminalizing marijuana, you are permitted to carry up to a certain amount of weed without being punished for if stopped and searched by cops. For so long, many have individuals of this land have been prosecutes in some way due to marijuana. 2012-2104 both Colorado and Washington D.C. have seemed to have the most effect on this topic. There are people's lives who have been affected by the criminalization of marijuana. Homes have been broken up, many which of color, for what price? Because integrity is not the answer. To agree or disagree on this topic, but many who choose marijuana for personal use have every reason to do so. Some may overuse but to completely look down and not for each state to have not agree to recreational and decriminalize makes me think that there is some Politicians who do not have the American people best interest at hand. 21 and older, can drink in the comfort of their home or even if out and about, can have 1 alcoholic beverage an hour and still be considered allowed to drive furthermore proves my point that there is a conspiracy going on. Liquor is at every store that is licensed to sell, which is every gas station. According to NACS there are around 126,000 gas stations in the US. But if you count the number of convenience stores (without fuel), the total number stores will rise to little over 150,000 just in the US. To legally say rather I can or cannot smoke marijuana should not be at the price of fine, jail, or employment. "It's not what you do, it's how you do it" should always come at the responsibility of the user. So, with 5 republicans to yes and 6 democrats no, the votes at the senate as they bring it the floor of the senate.

Powers of the Modern Monarchies of Europe
The Monarchies of Europe Western Civilization and culture is connected in its belief of liberal democracy. Human rights and democratic processes are central tenants of many European institutions. European history can be characterized by the rule of divine right monarchs; yet, in present day Europe ten democratic nations still have monarchs claiming divine rule. John Locke on the founding fathers of liberal democracy said in his Two Treatises on Civil Government that the Divine Right of Kings was an illiberal idea. Only 19% of Swedish people are religious making it one of the least religious nations in the world ("Religion In Sweden"), yet they still retain a King anointed by the church. While the monarchies present today are constrained by constitutions they are still unelected leaders holding large amounts of legal power.

WOMEN IN HISTORY
Queen Mary, consort to King George V, was the grandmother of our dear Queen, Elizabeth II. During the Great War, wishing to do her bit for the war effort, this Queen instituted an austerity drive at the Palace, where she rationed food, and visited the wounded and dying servicemen in the hospitals. Queen Mary was tireless in supporting her husband, the King, and later her son, King George VI.

Universal Basic Income
Written by Leon Zadok - December 5, 2020 Granting citizens a Universal Basic Income has been something discussed for generations. The great scholar, Thomas Paine, wrote about it. Milton Friedman discussed it with his contemporaries. Dr. King spoke at length on the subject. Numerous other great scholars of the past have bandied about the idea, usually to their detriment––seen by authorities as being so controversial as to be treasonous––this is no longer the case and may become a reality.

President Elect Biden
President Elect Biden, I was thrilled when you were finally announced the title. Unfortunately my state was not one that went Blue, but I was hoping it would have. We don’t see many politicians come to our town, or even talk about our town when it comes to issues like the virus. I feel as though we are left behind, but the other half of our state gets all the attention, because of Trump. I am talking about Florida. South Florida gets all the media and all the rallies, but we here in the Panhandle or Northwest Florida are forgotten.

Indoctrination Into the Culture of Racism (and Clawing Our Way Back Out?)
Have I experienced my own personal indoctrination into the culture of racism? I'd like to think not. In fact, I'll be somewhat charitable to myself here and say that, where it counts the most, I don't think I have been particularly racist throughout my life. Then again, isn't that exactly what a defensive person would say? Also, I must accept that, ultimately, this determination is not solely mine to make. It is partly about how others perceive and interpret my words, actions, and general demeanor.
