After years of boxy and angular iPhone launches, consumers and critics of smartphones flocked to Apple to applaud the company for improving the grip on the iPhone 15 series. But Google has been honing fantastic smartphone design for years through the Pixel series, whereas Apple is only now finding it out. The Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Pro, the company's newest products, stand out from other carefully crafted smartphones. There is a lot to admire about this year's Pixel phones, from the stylish and useful camera bar to the aggressive curves on the corners. We've finally reached the pinnacle of smartphone design with these gadgets. Here is what distinguishes Google and why it merits imitation.Google has simultaneously accomplished two challenging objectives with the camera bar on Pixel smartphones. On the one hand, the business has produced a recognisable emblem that immediately embodies its brand. You can recognize a Pixel phone by its camera bar whether it is in a case or being held in the hand. It's difficult to imagine Google having more branding success with the Pixel lineup's aesthetic, which includes the Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Pro.

If it isn't also useful, this might quickly develop into a drawback of Pixel phones. Fortunately, the camera bump has underutilized capabilities. The camera bar on the smartphone, like the camera bumps on other smartphones,Even after Samsung and Apple switched to rectangular slabs, Pixel devices continued to maintain a curved shape. With the Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Pro this year, Google elevated that history to a completely new level. These devices' metal frames have sharp corners and a terrific design that both looks and feels great. There is no right angle, or anything even remotely resembling one, left because the back glass curls into the frame of the smartphone. Google's Pixel phones still have the most curvature when compared to Apple and Samsung flagships, and they are also the most comfortable to hold.

The Pixel 7 Pro was the "most comfortable" of the gadgets I've used this year—there are more than 10 terrific phones in all. I haven't tried, butThis year's Pixel has the best smartphone design we've ever seen thanks to a number of further design advancements. The display's hole-punch cutout is unchanged from earlier Pixel models, but Google has found a way to make face unlock on the Pixel 8 series more secure. The manufacturer asserts that it offers the same level of protection as the fingerprint sensor found under the display of the Pixel 8 series devices. However, they enable Google to provide excellent biometric security solutions without making aesthetic compromises, unlike the Dynamic Island on the iPhone. These spec boosts aren't design modifications per se. Although Google's face unlock is more secure than Apple's Face ID, it's difficult to deny that the Dynamic Island looks nicer.Additionally, Google is now including matte rear glass on the Pixel 8 Pro, which is a new feature. Prior to this, the more expensive Pixel devices had a glossy rear glass. I tend to prefer frosted or matte glass alternatives on my cellphones, although it could just be a matter of personal opinion. The comfort of the Pixel 8 Pro, which appears to have increased due to the matte texture, is less subjective. Each of these design cues might not have a significant effect on how the Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Pro are used on a daily basis. In actuality, some of these design elements have been on Pixel smartphones for a long time. But what truly distinguishes these two phones as the pinnacle of smartphone design is their combined appearance on the Pixel 8 series. It has everything: comfort, form, functionality, and branding. With the design of the Pixel 8 series, Google has struck gold, and other producers should pay attention.
