Vocal is a platform for supporting, discovering and rewarding creators. With access to storytelling tools and engaged communities, writers, musicians, filmmakers, artists, and all types of creatives can get discovered and fund their creativity.

Here’s how Vocal works in three simple steps:

1. Create your story: Create a story about something you're passionate about. Make it engaging by embedding your photos, videos, music, and more.
2. Find your story a home: Submit your story to a community to get discovered. Our team of human moderators will ensure it complies with our Community Guidelines.
3. Fund your creativity: We believe quality stories should be rewarded. That's why we pay you for the engagement your stories receive and allow your fans to send you tips.

All creators have a place on Vocal. Whether you’re a blogger or professional author, videographer or musician, podcaster or photographer, Vocal makes it simple to create rich media stories to help grow your audience and promote your hard work.

Storytelling can help creators like you build an authentic connection with your audience and make your work more discoverable to potential fans. Even if you don’t consider yourself a writer, practicing the art of storytelling can make you more approachable and authoritative as a creative.

That’s why we provide you with the opportunity to earn money. We pay you via Stripe for the engagement your stories receive, and we make it easy to receive tips (one-off payments) from your fans. Even creators in the few countries that don't support Stripe find a home here, as is there is no paywall for readers and fans to get in the way of the expanded exposure of their work.

We’ve made it our top priority to provide you with safe, monitored communities for your stories to live in. Every story submitted to Vocal is reviewed by our moderation team (made up of real humans, not algorithms). They’ll make grammatical edits if necessary, but more importantly, they check to ensure that every piece of content meets our Community Guidelines—and if it doesn’t, they’ll send it back to you for edits so you can adjust and resubmit.

You can take a look at all of the things that our moderation team looks for in our Community Guidelines—be sure that you’re totally familiar with these before getting started. It’s a great baseline of knowledge to have when creating your stories, and it can also give you a good idea of what Vocal is all about.

Vocal creators have the choice between a free account or a paid membership. The paid membership, Vocal+, offers members monetization benefits, increased per-read earnings, the flexibility to make real-time Quick Edits, exclusive access to Vocal+ writing Challenges, as well as early access to exciting new features as they’re released. A Vocal+ membership is available for monthly payments of $9.99 (or $99 for one year).
