One of my favorite memories from the summer before Covid was the day I spent relaxing by the pool at my apartment complex, all by myself. It was a hot and sunny day, and I knew that the pool would be the perfect place to escape the heat and unwind.

As I walked down to the pool area, I felt a sense of anticipation building inside of me. I had always enjoyed swimming and lounging by the pool, but I had never had the chance to do it completely by myself. The idea of having the entire pool area to myself was both thrilling and a little intimidating.

When I arrived at the pool, I found it empty, just as I had hoped. I set down my towel and kicked off my shoes, feeling the warm concrete beneath my feet. I took a deep breath and plunged into the water, feeling the cool liquid surround me.

As I swam laps, I felt myself relaxing more and more with each stroke. The water was soothing and calming, and it washed away all of my stresses and worries. I felt completely at peace.

After a few laps, I decided to take a break and lay out on the chair. I closed my eyes and let the sun warm my skin, feeling its gentle heat penetrate my body. I listened to the sound of the water lapping against the sides of the pool and the rustling of the leaves in the trees above.

As I lay there, I felt my mind and body completely unwind. I had no deadlines to meet, no obligations to fulfill, and no one to talk to. It was just me and the pool, and it was the most peaceful and calming experience.

As the afternoon wore on, more and more people arrived at the pool area, but I hardly noticed them. I was in my own little world, enjoying the serenity of the moment.

When it was time to leave, I felt a pang of disappointment. I didn't want to leave the peaceful oasis I had created for myself. But I knew that I would always have that memory to look back on and cherish.

Reflecting on that day now, after the chaos and uncertainty of the past year, I realize how important it is to take time for ourselves. In the midst of a busy and hectic world, it's easy to forget the importance of quiet and stillness. But taking the time to relax and recharge is essential for our mental and physical health.

In conclusion, the day I spent relaxing by the pool by myself during the summer before Covid was one of the most peaceful and rejuvenating experiences of my life. The serene atmosphere of the pool, combined with the absence of any distractions or obligations, allowed me to completely unwind and recharge. It was a reminder of the importance of taking time for ourselves, and of the power of stillness and quiet in a busy and chaotic world.

Looking back on that day, I also appreciate the simplicity of it all. Without the distractions of technology, work, or social obligations, I was able to fully embrace the beauty of the moment. It was just me, the sun, the water, and the peacefulness of my surroundings. In today's world, it's easy to become consumed by the constant noise and stimulation of technology, but this experience reminded me of the importance of disconnecting and embracing the simple pleasures of life.
