trauma
At its core, trauma can be thought of as the psychological wounds that persist, even when the physical ones are long gone.
After the Worst Has Already Happened
You know that exact second when the worst has already happened, the chaos dips for a minute, and you are just left standing in the middle of a room? It is a physical sensation and feels like someone dropped a concrete block right on your chest and forgot to take it off.

Trauma hurts…
Trauma — is an emotional or psychological response to very stressful, frightening, or distressing events. Trauma comes in different forms. Physical trauma refers to a person suffering a sudden injury caused by an accident like a car crash. Physical trauma heals over time. Bones can be re-set in theater and will heal again. Bruises and cuts can be nasty, but most heal in time with medical attention.

Insight: Why Am I Afraid of Any 'Drama'?

Grieving Independence. Top Story - July 2026.
Until it happens to you, you don’t often get to hear about the quiet but unending grief and anger at what you could once do. When we picture getting older, we usually imagine being able to slowly no longer do what we want, what we love, and what we need to do to function as a human being. We never picture what often actually happens which is a very sudden and abrupt loss of what we were once able to do.

Callow. Content Warning.
One of the loneliest and saddest things about being schizotypal, at least for me, is that people often stop seeing you as a person and start remembering you as an experience they had. They remember the strange parts. The frightening parts. The parts of you that made them uncomfortable, confused, guilty, or scared. Years later, you can come back with insight, treatment, language, humour, softness, self-awareness - and still realise that someone isn’t looking at you. They’re looking at the worst period of your life and calling it you.
