Mental Health is taking care of your whole well-being.

Most people believe mental health is all about the mind. However, the mind is just a part of it.

The other part is your physicality, meaning your physical body.

So mental health is taking care of your mind and body(the spirit).

The goal of mental health is to heal from whatever disorder or trauma you may have. The goal is to not be involuntarily committed. The goal is to not be admitted after the first time. The goal is to get treatment, treat yourself, and go about your merry life.

However, that isn't the case the at all. I'm not sure how many never return back but, I do know that the people who are admitted for the time, it's never their last time.

There are many and few mental hospitals. Most of the facilities are not up to date and they feel like jail.

The places I've been to feel more child-like than to be made for adults.

A suggestion, I would make is to have an anger releasing room. This room can only be ordained for people experiencing anger. The room should be soundproof, and safety proofed to break/and or throw things. One way for them to release their anger will be to scream. Another way to express anger would be to throw/and or break things.

Another suggestion could be a gun range room. There are plenty of other options to choose from. And they can all contribute to a place of release for angry individuals.

I feel like these suggestions are more focused on adults who admit themselves or those who are involuntarily admitted. The suggestions also focus more being active rather than sitting around for hours and frugally getting into fights. These are suggestive ways to help diffuse boredom and anger with others or self.

One has to admit themselves to the psychiatric hospital. The admittance can be voluntarily or involuntarily. I've experienced involuntarily only. However, admitting yourselves can classify one has having mental health problems. Most people who admit themselves are seeking help.

Mental Health can deteriorate if one is not taking care of themselves properly. Or if one is drained from doing too much. Doing too much can lead to mental breakdowns and eventually your mental health will deteriorate due to lack of proper care.

Proper care is taking care of yourself. Taking care of yourself is not easy when other factors are involved. For example, work, relationships, children, outside activities, etc are all other factors involved when it comes to your mental health. Therefore, most people seek help when admitted.

I believe when one is involuntarily committed it is a whole story behind it. The story ending as the patient never having problems all along. And that is one thing psychiatrist and nurses should take the time to work on. I believe they should work on LISTENING to the PATIENT!

It will definitely save huge amounts of time to deal with patients who are seeking help.

And would save time for everyone, especially the busy workers.

The workers have to have lots of patience and be people oriented. It's definitely working with and/ or around people all day. I always say if you're not a people's person, then working around people shouldn't be a job for you. Even people who work need breaks from people once in a while. That's just how much pressure it is to work within a community of people. It can be draining. But once you've been in that environment for 2 years or more, it becomes relevantly easier.

Once admitted, people are then evaluated to determine if they need the help or not. And the major thing is if they need to take prescribed medication or other options. That's another story for another day because that's the whole health system lol. Always trying to find a way.

I also think we should have alternatives to our treatment besides medication. For example, essential oils are becoming popular. And the different scents help aide in many different health problems. They also have an alternative to medicine which helps in aiding mental health diagnoses. Therapy is an alternative to medicine. Marijuana, even though it is classified as a drug, it's a plant medicine that's another alternative.

The goal is to do what works best for the patient and/or client. Whether the alternatives include medication or not. I think that should not be a problem. Nor do I believe a patient's involvement in their own treatment should go unnoticed. The involvement clearly states they want to do BETTER!

Being admitted is not always about medication, which most seem to believe. Some people are really suffering and struggling from real life crisis. For example, homelessness and suicide, and/or anxiety. With these being the less talked about and the more serious ones.

Classified as mental health disorders and/ or mental illnesses. These few that are less talked about are the most important. Not only are they important but they should be definitely dealt with more. And discussed more.

On the forefront, in the mental health hospitals, they are not talked about as much. They insist we respect others diagnoses and try not to talk about it to them. However, I would have to say to be involved in treatment, one has to discuss what they are suffering from. That way, other patients can give feedback and these people can know they are NOT alone.

Anxiety is worry and fear about everyday situations. People with anxiety have a hard time coping in reality and engaging in the real world. The symptoms can range from rapid breathing to a fast heart rate and sweating.

The goal when admitting yourself is treatment. Which, treatment should be different for everyone because everyone is different. Treatment should consist of a care plan and an after -care plan.

Care plans are basically stating what is good for you, the patient. It is rationalizing how you care for yourself in general. And how you care for yourself independently.

An after-care plan rationalizes the same thing. Only difference is we are referring to when the patient goes home. The patient needs an after-care plan to visualize what's going to happen once, they return to the outside environment.

Care plans should include ways to holistically take care of yourself. When one is holistically taking of themselves, they are taking care of their mind and body. They are taking care of the safety of their physical and the safety of their mind .. and the safety of their well-being altogether.

The goal after admittance is to ADMIT to what brought you in. Again, everyone's reasoning and answers will be different. Each patient should be accommodated based on that reason of admittance. For example, their should be categories for such. Such as, urgent patients, immediate patients, and regular patients.

Urgent patients should be ones that have work or children to return to. I choose this as number one because we all need money to provide for our families.

Immediate patients should be new patients and patients with new diagnoses.

Regular patients should be patients that are just requiring medication change or some sort in that matter.

This is important because not only will it diffuse chaos. It will also get people home quicker. And the regular people can get as much needed attention and treatment as necessary.

Mental health should not be taking lightly. Taking care of your mental health and making sure you are healthy is important. It's important because it's what keep us aa humans going, in the world today. And taking CARE of YOURSELF is YOUR number 1 priority.

As a woman, I know how to care for me. Because there are things a man will never experience nor will never fully understand. And that goes from a man's perspectives too.

Women should be able to gather up and help each other out. Men should entice the engagement of women. Not put down or trigger negative behavior for woman to fight each other.

Mental health doesn't stem from just women, but men as well have a population of mental health problems and/or issues. Most just not discussed to the public. Men are put in the image role to "be strong."

Holistically speaking, the motto "be strong" is not healthy at all. It's pretty much cliche and toxic to the relevant times of today. It's unhealthy because your feelings and emotions are being suppressed and repressed. They are being bottled up to a point of an explosion.

This example, right there, is why I was brought in and admitted. I was very irate but only due to a fact of repressed emotions. I try to regulate my emotions to a point where I'm not getting angry and being on my worst behavior. Why? It dilutes character. People will then start to view you as different, weird, or odd. Which in the past, I've learned to except. However, currently speaking,

I'm learning to put my emotions down on paper and express my feelings while doing so. It's not always good to physically fight unless it's aimed towards a sport or something in that matter. Something that can fire me up but be released in a serotonin way, which is mellow.

Writing is one of my major coping skill strengths. I love to just write and let the words flow effortlessly to something beautiful.

Listening to music is not a coping skill for me, but more of an outlet of creativity, in my mind. Listening to music and watching music videos inspire me to write even more. Watching videos inspire me to one day start directing videos. But listening to music can be a coping skill for some.

Listening to music and writing is like a stress manager for me. When I'm feeling pressured or under stress, I decide to pour it all onto paper. And I FEEL very GOOD after my writing is done.

I never give myself that outward gratitude of accomplishing something. I always feel the inward gratitude though. By showing it outwardly, I am starting off with smiling more to myself and my peers and/or associates. I also like to dance to show myself outward gratitude.

Coping skills are important to help a patient regulate what they are going through. Coping skills helps an individual identify with what makes them relax. They also help them focus. From my experience, my coping skills were what helped me deal with and eventually pull through my triggers.

My coping skills remain the same. However, what changed is how I use them to navigate in the outside environment. And how I began to use them to generate wealth.

Coping skills are ways to cope with a disorder or illness. It's something that helps balance out the lows. It's what makes one feel better about themselves.

Coping skills to me are just ways that helps us relax and feel calm in a moment of worry.

Behavioral Health institutions use coping skills as part of a patients care/treatment plan.

Coping skills become more like hobbies than anything because growing up we all have had things to help us cope. And as adults , some of those things we used to help us cope has become a part of our everyday life.

Most of us are misunderstood at a fast pace. What we say/feel just breezes by like the wind. Just a small touch but never a long lasting feeling.

Sometimes it's hard to face reality because it's not how we live. As a whole, reality looks well. In our minds, in reality as a whole, reality is messed up.

It's okay to have different views. We shouldn't be judged or labeled. Our behavior is non interactive because our realities are different.

And who's to say which is right?

I presume only a doctor.

But even doctors have their own point of views.

However, what I do like about doctors , well some, is that they try to choose what is best.

It's best to have a good relationship with your doctor.

It's best to be open with them and let them refer what help may be needed if any.

The ultimate goal is health.

So why do we lean towards medicine?

Medicine is fixated and only meant to treat for a short amount of time.

The thing is we for it to last long it has to keep being supplied.

I think it's okay to use medicine when it helps you as a person. Otherwise, I think medicine is not okay to be used when it is not helping the person.

So how do we overcome not using medicine for a lifetime.

Nutrition!

Ahhh , yessss.

I think what we eat has an affect on our mind and body. When mental health includes both, the mind and the body. Why not try nutrition?

Healthy nutrition can be found in foods. The nutrition we receive fuels us up with nutrients and gives our body what it needs.

What happens when we don't get enough nutrients?

Many of things can happen.

We may feel tired or irritated easily.

We may feel sick or under the weather.

We may behave more aggressively.

We may behave more passively .

And the list goes on.

Nutrition can also play a part in behavioral health.

If we eat we are more likely to behave a nice manner.

If we don't eat, we are more likely to behave in an angry manner.

What we do/don't do will always influence our behavior and thoughts.

It's best to FOCUS 🧘🏾‍♀️

Best to focus on you.

Best to take care of you.

Best to love on you.

Best to just be the best you.

And best to focus on all the positive and all the brightness that we build up inside.

Focus on it all because

our thoughts have influence over our behavior as well.

If we are thinking negatively, then we would want to do bad things or behave in bad waysZ.

If we are thinking positively, then we would want to do positive things or behave in positive waysZ .

It's about training our minds and bodies to work on a clock. In behavioral health systems, we work on a clock.

In reality, we all work on clocks.

When we go to work we have to clock in.

And work on the clock until it's time to clock out.

Everything is so sporadic.

Our minds are thee most.

There is so much more I can talk about because I've been in the behaviorial health system for almost 10yrs.

However, I've learned and grew way over that time.

It's time to elevate somewhere else and do other things. Even if you are one to still be there, just let the pen take you where it wants. Let your mind follow and open.

Some people again go there because they need help or else why would they be there?

Presumptively the voluntarily ones. Something to think about.

Hmmm 🤔
