Coffee Thoughts - Addiction Vs. Dependency
***Warning - this article contains content regarding drug use and addiction*** In a heated Reddit debate there was a discussion of what option would be best for a Redditor: methadone or heroin. I can’t recall the precise reason why he was hoping to understand the difference, I believe it was for pain management under doctoral supervision, but it is Reddit, so I cannot say for certain. I joined said discussion by saying that methadone is often used for addicts, but the side effects can be so harsh that many find it difficult as a stepping stone. Additionally, upon doing a test on heroin, a psychiatrist found that when you took the risk or uncertainty about the next fix - heroin addicts were more likely to return to functioning life and manage the issues that caused the addiction in the first place (if you want to read more about this test and the drug war in general please read “The War on Drugs: A Failed Experiment” by Paula Mallea). The debate that ensued was that there was a difference between “addiction” and “dependence” - you wouldn’t call someone with ADHD who takes their medication an addict, would you?

Justin BoyettePublished 2 years ago in PsycheDoes mediocrity choose you, or does your subconscious choose mediocrity?
At work and in life, most of the time we want to get ahead, just like in the village, we want others to respect us and make us feel great. But we are very sorry to find that no matter how strong our subjective desire is, we are still very mediocre in the end, and do not become the kind of people in our imagination. Why is this? Based on my own short life experience and the information I get from reading books, I think it's not just external causes and birth defects that cause this, but our own subconscious choice of mediocrity. This is very paradoxical. On the surface, we do not want to be mediocre, but why do we choose mediocrity subconsciously?

Willing WaysPublished 2 years ago in PsycheHow Does BHRT Work?
Your hormones intercommunicate to promote your everyday bodily functioning, including hunger, mood, metabolism, and sexual desire. When hormone levels in the body fluctuate, it can seriously impact your well-being and health. This is when most people begin using hormone replacement therapy (HRT) to give their bodies the required hormones. Bioidentical Hormone Replacement Therapy (BHRT) is earning more reputation as a natural remedy for men and women with a hormone imbalance.
Harbor Compounding pharmacyPublished 2 years ago in PsycheThe Bankrupt Mind
The mind is timeless and eternal, so how can we have a bankrupt mind? As I see it, the ego in mind, with its perception of chronological time, is the problem. The thinking process that we use with its verbalization ties us to the world of the past, present and future. It makes us time travellers who believe that thinking will solve all our problems and fear that we might disappear from the mind if we stop thinking. Thus the thinking process in most individuals becomes a self-sustaining process where one thought ends and another begins. It becomes like a squirrel in a cage where one goes round and round in circles. It becomes a habit where one feels that one cannot stop thinking.

EGO - Everyone's Got One! Rather than trying to shame your ego, instead nurture it to help it become healthier and more resilient. If your concept of ego is that it refers only to someone’s sense of self importance, that would lead to arrogance, strife, and dissatisfaction.
