What is Enlightenment?
Most people are confused. They do not know what hypnosis is. They do not know what meditation is, and they do not know what enlightenment is. I have written on hypnosis and meditation, but not on enlightenment. So here is my contribution to the knowledge we have.

Meditation – The Right Way and The Wrong Way
It is fascinating to observe how the world is going and how people think, but it is also sad because there is so much self-created human misery. As my understanding of how the ego operates in our mind becomes more apparent, my perception of reality becomes sharper. When comparing ancient civilizations with our present ones, I see no progress in understanding our minds. They created an escapist world then, and we are doing the same thing by following them now with a bigger and better one with our advanced technology. Thus, as we become more out of touch with reality, one does not have to be a prophet to predict mental illness increasing in societies worldwide.

The Bankrupt Mind
The mind is timeless and eternal, so how can we have a bankrupt mind? As I see it, the ego in mind, with its perception of chronological time, is the problem. The thinking process that we use with its verbalization ties us to the world of the past, present and future. It makes us time travellers who believe that thinking will solve all our problems and fear that we might disappear from the mind if we stop thinking. Thus the thinking process in most individuals becomes a self-sustaining process where one thought ends and another begins. It becomes like a squirrel in a cage where one goes round and round in circles. It becomes a habit where one feels that one cannot stop thinking.

The Medusa Phenomenon
In Greek mythology, Medusa was a monster with a human female face. From her scalp grew living venomous snakes instead of hair. She looked so hideous that gazing directly upon her would turn anyone into stone. In my mind, I regard this fear of turning into stone, very much like the fear of transforming oneself into a new person when confronted with reality, as the Medusa Phenomenon.

Understanding the Ego and Suicides
Do you know that your ego, which you identify as I or self, is the most incredible survivor and confidence trickster in mind? To the ego, death is an anathema. So much so that we have created various beliefs and philosophies to comfort us and think that there is life after death. Yet we see people committing suicide. How is it that this ego, the great survivor suddenly turns around and goes on a path of self-destruction? The answer lies in understanding how our perceptions and thinking process influence our subconscious mind.

Understanding Perceptions
Do you know that there is so much wisdom and knowledge in the world today that if we applied it in our daily life, we could solve all our problems in no time? But this knowledge is scattered and not integrated. You have to search for truth to find your way around.

Immortality, Fantasy and Reality
Do you know that human beings are delusive thinkers? We do not realise that we live in a hypnotic world. Our thinking process is hypnotic. The words we use in our minds have a conditioned response in the subconscious mind. The meaning of the words does not matter, but they generate real feelings. The subconscious mind is like a piano, and the words we use are the keys on the piano keyboard. They produce a specific sound. Twenty-four hours a day, we play a tune on this keyboard, and most people have no idea how their mind works.

Mental Illness–A Disorder of Perception
Do you think the world is going crazy or going mad? If you do, then you are not the only one who thinks this way. Most people feel they are living in a world of confusion and chaos. If you look around you, that is the reality you will see. But what you see is the reflection of the individual's mind.

The Ego and The Paradox of Time
Do you know that the time dimension, as you know by the clock, is man-made? We should be all interested in time because we use time in mathematics and science. We measure time in seconds, minutes, hours, days and years. Also, we calculate distances in time, light years away and eons etc. Time is used for cooking, travelling, growing and achieving things. Everything we do has a time attached to it – even our bodies age with time. There is time to be born and time to die for all of us. Time consumes our thinking and our whole being. There is a saying, "Time and tide wait for no man". Our perception of time traps us in time from the moment we are born and from which there is no apparent escape. With time there is a past, present and future, and there is always a beginning and an end.

Hypnosis and Self-Knowledge
Most people do not understand hypnosis. Many think they cannot be hypnotised, and many believe someone hypnotises them. What they know about hypnosis is mostly from watching hypnosis performed on stage or TV. So they have the wrong idea about hypnosis and what it does to the individual. Here I am going to try to dispel this misconception and help you understand the magic inside you.
