How of you feel like life is better than what you think? I've felt like this for the longest time. have I seen life it a different view because I made some changes to myself that improved my emotional well-being.

These days the conversation on mental health has gained traction which is a beautiful thing. Players in the NFL are even going public with their stories.

If these men who make a living showing how physically tough they are can do it, so can you!

I won't lie to you, it’s not going to be easy. There’s no way to tell how it will improve your life either. Everyone learns at their own pace. But what I have learned is you don’t have to feel helpless anymore.

This may be difficult

Helplessness is a difficult emotion to deal with. It can be hard to watch someone else through a distressing time. The fear of not being able to dictate what is going on can paralyze the best of us.

We tend to fall into this trap when we try to control that make us feel powerless. When you might think that you can exert some control over the situation, but you can’t, you begin to feel small.

People who are emotionally stable develop the courage to face up to their limitations and realize that they are far more helpless than they initially thought. This will make them stronger and more adaptable to new situations.

Embracing uncertainty may feel uncomfortable at first but it’s a powerful skill to learn. We tend to get into habits that are designed to reduce our anxiety and uncertainty, but these tend to end up causing more problems down the road.

This is a form of denial. It often gives us the illusion of assurance that everything will be fine.

Not accepting uncertainty makes you less to deal with it in the future, and it can also make you less confident. Experiencing uncertainty is a habit for emotionally stable people.

They can tolerate it because they are building confidence in their abilities to handle it.

This confidence allows them to pursue their goals which is important for maintaining a balanced and healthy life. It’s common for people to start asking for what they want instead of what they need.

This habit then leads to assuming what they want is not important.

You will never feel worthy or good enough if you don’t stand up for yourself and your needs.

People have low self-esteem because they don't know how to ask for what they want. This prevents them from pursuing it confidently and causing chronic anxiety and inner turmoil.

Take Action

Not asking for what you want is a major source of stress but asking for something that you don’t want is also worse. For example, if you always , you’re to get upset with others if you suggest something, and they don’t want it.

You’ve been in this role because you were afraid to tell people no.

One of the most important factors that can affect the well-being of people with unhealthy boundaries is their lack of respect for themselves.

If you want to achieve higher self-esteem and have the courage to set boundaries, then find the courage to enforce them.

Be careful not to expect too much in the beginning. Your expectations are often formed with the intention of achieving what we want.

For example, the expectations you have for your kids are not based on reality. If they have a learning disability, their chances of achieving academic success are lower.

Or they don’t know how to listen to people talk about topics for 8 hours straight. This is a recipe for high-pressure relationships.

Expectations make you feel good in the short-term, but in the long-run, they can lead to pain if you don’t make them achievable and realistic.

Getting lost in unrealistic and overly-negative thoughts can trigger panic and anxiety, and it comes from losing yourself in a spiral of worry and loss.

Self-loathing and depression are caused by the cycles of self-doubt and criticism. Anger and resentment are triggered by thinking deeply over people’s shortcomings.

How we think about ourselves can affect how we feel.

People with emotionally balanced bodies can be skeptical of their own thoughts. , they often try to create more constructive and realistic ideas.

Don’t avoid certain feelings

Most forms of emotional instability are caused by one thing, emotional reasoning. This happens when people make decisions based on how they feel.

What makes us feel good emotionally is often the reason why we feel worse later. In contrast, what makes us feel different is often the reason why we feel good long-term.

People who are emotional stable know how their emotions can lead them astray. Instead of taking orders from their feelings, they try to verify them against their values.

I wouldn’t say never trust your emotions but make sure to check them against what you believe in to make sure you are making the right decision for yourself.

Its human nature to avoid pain. When we reach for a hot pan, we automatically pull our hand back to avoid getting burned.

You may also feel like you’re getting stronger after lifting weights but avoiding painful places and lifts will leave you stuck at a certain point in your growth.

If you avoid feelings that are painful, you are training your brain to be afraid of them. This is a bad idea for long-term emotional stability.

Final Thoughts

The best in life never come easy. You have to work for it and not for one day. Every day we wake up and have tasks to do but how of them result in you becoming a better person?

Be your own advocate because the one person who is going to do their best for your future is you. You need to go out and learn how to improve your life.

That might be why you are reading this article right now and if so, I applaud you. You have taken the first step toward living a better life.

You might be afraid because you don’t know what the future holds but don’t let that stop you from making improvements to your life. Take life one step at a time.

It may take a long time, but you will get to where you want to be. Besides, who said you must improve yourself by a certain time? Those people have more work to do on themselves then you do.
