If you pay attention, most people in life are cramming when they read books and news. Most of the information in the books is accepted without thinking. Therefore, most people feel that reading is useless and does not help themselves; while people with critical thinking are digging gold in the sand for information in books and newspapers. They screen and digest information through analysis, reasoning, questioning and thinking. More structured, purer, more reliable knowledge.

Ask yourself, how long has it been since you took a hard look at what you saw and heard? Thinking back to your reading experience on the Internet, some answers are rigorous and meticulous, some are provocative, and some are trembling... Most of the time we just learn some phenomena and opinions from them. I never thought about making judgments (especially subjective issues), and accepting all of them.

You will see a lot of unsustainable viewpoints, such as "life should have a trip that says go", "excellent men and women are lonely" and so on, every time you see us, it's like finding a soulmate, sighing endlessly . In reading and writing, we often overestimate our understanding of the meaning of some words, such as "freedom", "love", "happiness", etc. The more abstract words can represent, the more meanings we need to pay attention to. Ask yourself "What does the author mean here?".

And now you can use critical thinking to analyze what I said. I just used examples to show that these points do not stand up to scrutiny, but in fact I did not seriously test my examples at all, which is actually a kind of An incorrect reasoning, and the conclusion has no credibility.

What is even more frightening is that some intellectuals deliberately promote distorted facts and values. If you continue to learn it regardless, you will easily be used by these people. Internet mob incidents are not uncommon, such as "resisting Japanese goods, smashing them." Japanese goods”, netizens’ words were vulgar and violent. Occasionally someone stood up to uphold justice and wrote, “For the history of Japan’s aggression against China, the most correct way for the Chinese to not forget the shame is to work hard and make their country more developed than Japan. Richer, cleaner, more just..." Someone quickly turned this political issue into a personal attack. I think the fundamental reason is that ordinary people lack "critical thinking" and cannot analyze problems rationally and rationally.

In the explosive information age, most of us lack the ability of rational analysis and judgment.

Critical thinking is not only used in reading and reading articles, but is often encountered in daily work and life. If you can use it consciously, you can not only learn knowledge better, but also greatly reduce many unnecessary troubles, and better understand others and Own.

Why do parents always get angry with their children? Because they think the children are theirs, give them food and flowers, but still can't make them obedient? Their values are that I gave birth to you and raised you, so you should listen to me. And the value of the child is that I am a human being like you, why can't I do it if you can do it? This kind of contradiction of values is a contradiction that can never be reconciled unless the other party changes its values.

At work, the leader asks you to pay him electricity, water, gas and phone bills? The reason for the leadership is that you have nothing to do today, so go hand it in. Or if you go out to run errands anyway, let's do it together. You are unhappy. I am here to work for the company, not your personal secretary, so why should I do it for you? The leader stands in his position. You are the one I recruited. You should thank me and listen to me. This is because the ideas are different, each has its own arguments and arguments, and the positions are different, and there will be contradictions.

Developing the habit of critical thinking depends on a lot of practice, but a lot of connections are based on certain values. If you want to improve your critical thinking, you need to master reading autonomy, from the infinite possibilities Make choices; be curious, listen to knowledge, refuse to listen and believe; put your attitude right, be courteous, remember the words of Socrates: "The only thing I know is that I know nothing." Finally remember Those who convince people with reason will be respected when they meet.

When you face a problem and need to solve it, should you think rationally or emotionally? Then your best choice is to rather be capricious when the reasons are sufficient and the evidence is convincing, and not to be obsessed with the conclusion that lacks arguments and strong arguments. Once you think, the purpose is to make our thinking deeper and more precise. . Accept or reject a position, and only after analyzing and reasoning, can you increase your emotional investment.

You and the other side of the debate will have serious differences of opinion, try to keep your conversation going. Don't develop a wishful thinking mode, which is easy to get into the horns. Critical thinking is the kind of thinking that will bring you to see what the other person has not expressed, what has not been said. Compare yourself and the other party's arguments and values, and do more empathy, you will understand, and you will not be so concerned. Don't make useless arguments about different values.

To improve one's own critical thinking, one must first admit one's own shortcomings. Socrates said, "The only thing I know is that I know nothing." There is no basic theory to see what to criticize. It can only be reduced to complete value relativism. For example, a theory must conform to reality, which is a correct foundational axiom. You could also argue that theory doesn't have to correspond to reality. XXX means that it is good to be good. If the theory does not conform to the reality, then the reality is wrong. This is the wrong fundamental axiom. People's communes starve to death. This is not the problem of the people's communes, but because class enemies are sabotaging them. What do you say here are all village folks without class enemies? Then you are covering up the class enemy. The chairman said that there are 5% class enemies, do you dare to say that the chairman is wrong? ! Such rambunctious criticism is meaningless. Correctly using critical thinking to think about problems will allow you to improve yourself in criticism, have wisdom, and be open-minded.
