Many of us love the bubbly texture and the bitter taste of a good glass of champagne. Whether you're grabbing a glass at a wedding reception or at a dinner party, champagne is one of the best spirits for a great time. There are even health benefits of champagne. But have you ever personally purchased a bottle of champagne? A lot of those bottles can be around $30 to even $50... and these are just among the best cheap champagne bottles. Crazy, I know. But it is one of the more high-end spirits out there.

However, if those prices for a champagne bottle scare you, you're nowhere near being terrified. The bottles that cost a mere $50 are absolutely nothing, compared to what I'm about to expose to you. Listen to this: the world's most expensive champagnes. I can just see your eyes widening.

Yes, there are even more expensive bottles on the market, and they're priced much higher than a regular bottle of champagne. Instead of holding you back to view these pricey bottles of champagne, let's dive right into the most expensive drinks in the world, that literally cost more than my college tuition.

Louis Roederer Cristal 2007 Rosé — $550

We’re starting off this list of the world's most expensive champagnes with the lowest price. Yes, $550 is the lowest compared to the champagnes that are coming up next. Louis Roederer Cristal 2007 Rosé (Note: many of these names are extremely difficult to pronounce) is the perfect blend of 56 percent Pinot Noir and 44 percent Chardonnay.

With a light pink hue and hits of green and brown highlights, this bottle of champagne is delicate with dynamic bubbles. As for taste, people would describe it as “salty” from the infused petals and dried flower with spiced white pepper and oxidation, as well as the zest of orange. However, it’s the perfect bottle to pop when nearing the end of summer.

NV Jacques Selosse Lieux-dits Les Chantereines Grand Cru Avize Extra Brut — $843

The Jacques Selosse champagne bottle goes for $843 and is very bitter, basically less than 0.6 percent of sugar per liter. It is fermented through yeast without drying it out too much. Maker Anselme Selosse was careful with his terroir, and wine critics gave him a lot of recognition for it.

The aroma is known to be fresh, crisp, and clean. As for flavor, it's loaded with fruits like apples, pears, hints of lemon, etc. Even though it's more of an aromatic scent, the taste is sweet. Making this one of the world's most expensive champagnes ever.

1943 Moët & Chandon Brut — $997

The Moët & Chandon Brut is an amazing choice in champagne... if you're willing to spend $997 on just one bottle. The historic brand has even christened its 200th anniversary with this specific bottle. It's no wonder this is one of the world's most expensive champagnes.

This bottle consists of the perfect blend of Pinot Noir, Chardonnay, and Pinot Meunier. Also, it’s seen to be one of the most cherished bottles of champagne. On the palate, it gives off sweet pear and citrus with notes of brioche.

Engraved Krug Brut David Sugar — $1,806

Among the world's most expensive champagnes, Engraved Krug Brut David Sugar is up there in pricing — $1,806. If you somehow win the lottery and want to drop about $2,000 on a bottle of champagne, then this may be your best bet.

Even though the taste isn't entirely described, the design and appearance of this bottle is very dark and mysterious. Mysterious as in we don't know what it tastes like! However, what's unique is that there's an engraving of a flowering tree and a quail in addition that is seated in it.

Armand de Brignac Brut Gold (Ace of Spades) (3 Liter) — $2,239

The prices on these champagne bottles just keep going up and up. And this one just adds to the list of the world's most expensive champagnes. But if you're a major Jay Z fan and never heard of his popular $2,239 three liter Armand de Brignac Brut Gold champagne, are you really his fan?

The aroma of this gorgeous-looking bottle of champagne is fresh and crisp, with hints of floral notes. As for the palate, it features fruity characteristics, along with fine brioche accents. The texture is exquisitely creamy with a silky finish. But let's not ignore the stunning, shiny gold bottle with the "Ace of Spades" logo on the center.

Champagne Krug Clos d’Ambonnay 1995 — $3,999

Here's another champagne that comes from the same family as Engraved Krug Brut David — Champagne Krug Clos d’Ambonnay 1995. Among the world's most expensive champagnes, it's also among the rarest bottles on the market. Pitch black and smooth, the bottle is certainly appealing.

Upon the nose, there’s a fine chalk, mineral-infused black cherry fruit with a hint of brioche in the mix. The bottle consists of 100 percent Pinot Noir that’s barrel-fermented for about 13 years. Now that I think about it, is it worth $3,999? Perhaps.

Moet & Chandon Dom Perignon Charles & Diana 1961 — $4,309

After searching up this bottle of champagne, now I understand why it's a whopping $4,309. This bottle was released in 1961, the year Princess Diana was born. And during the wedding of Lady Diana Spencer and Prince Charles, Dom Pérignon was the chosen bottle of champagne for their royal wedding. Interesting, right?

However, there's only a limited amount of these champagne bottles, and there are individuals out there who've managed to get their hands on the bottle that was chosen to celebrate the royal wedding.

Dom Pérignon Rosé by David Lynch 1998 — $11,179

From the sweet smell of floral, notes of blossoms, a touch of orange peel, and dried fruits brings Dom Pérignon Rosé by David Lynch 1998, one of the world's most expensive champagnes. For a bottle that goes for $11,179, the aromas of woody spices and ripe harvests truly brings out this champagne.

While it's the perfect blend of Pinot Noir and Chardonnay, this champagne bottle is made with only grapes from the 17 Grands Crus in Champagne and the Premier Cru of Hautvillers. The creator behind this pricy champagne bottle, Dom Pierre Perignon, is seen as the "father of champagne."

Dom Pérignon Rose Gold 1996 — $49,000

Here's another champagne bottle from the "father of champagne" himself, the $49,000 bottle of Dom Pérignon Rose Gold 1996. While there's only about 35 of these bottles in the world, it's one of the finest and among the world's most expensive champagnes ever.

This champagne bottle has the aroma of vintage rosé, with smokey and peaty accents. As for the palate, it’s very strong, radiant, smooth, but sharp with a solid finish.

Goût de Diamants, Taste of Diamonds — $1.8 million

Of course, it's not the list of the world's most expensive champagnes without... the most expensive one. At a mere $1.8 million you've got Goût de Diamants, Taste of Diamonds. Honestly, this bottle better make you live forever, give you the ability to fly, and allow you to never feel pain again with that heart attack of a price.

Maker Alexander Amosu created, literally, the most expensive champagne bottle on Earth that features an 18-carat gold logo on the front, and a flawless 19-carat white diamond right on the logo. While the appearance may look intimidating, the taste is great. It's light, refreshing, and satisfying at every sip.
