words about water
original excerpts about the ocean that i have compiled
the wind fills my lungs deeply
the ocean washes over my mind
we are all bodies of water
yearning for a wave of our kind.
glistering under the sun with such purity
that reveals beneath
the lenghts they travel
but always belong as one.
i used to tell everyone that my favorite season was winter. that i loved the snow and drinking hot chocolate as the cold weather ruled outside. but i realized now that spring is actually my favorite season. i don't have any particular reason for this claim other than, going to the ocean on a sunny, yet windy day brings me the utmost peace. as the sun warms my skin, the ocean waves fill my ears. since it's still cold, there are only a few people at the shore, taking a stroll with their friends or their dog. the color of the water is the purest blue i have ever seen. it glistens under the sun as seagulls enjoy their day. it's february 19th. 45 degrees fahrenheit. i am sitting by the beach with a pen and paper in my hands. i am content.
i get lost staring at the endless blue
it brings me a strange comfort i never knew
the line where the sky meets the ocean-
a place where happiness exists.
it is never ending; impossible to reach.
for now i'll be content
just with the sight of it all
it's there and therefore exists
and that is enough.
