Lord

send me a love

that's not a coke dealer

*

One that's not high

on his own supply

*

One that doesn't need

to escape reality

to be free

*

Who doesn't depend

on anything

outside himself

for a sense of peace

*

Send me a love

who understands

that his soul

is the priceless pearl

within an oyster's home

*

One that is free

like an eagle

soaring in the sky

*

One that's high

on jaunty laughter

and all the joys

of fully being alive

*

Lord

send me a love

that's not a soldier

*

One that isn't

a robotic slave

within a cultic system

*

One that doesn't

murder the innocent

for a living

*

One that doesn't

fuck whores

just to forget

his problems

*

Send me a love

who worships

the temple of my body

with sexual sacraments

*

One who's

sharpest sword is his tongue

With which he carefully carves

words to heal the world

*

One that will

serenade me

without a care

if he's on key

or on cue

*

One that will sing

Sanskrit prayers with me

while walking through

the Land Of The Medicine Buddha

*

One that will

dance with me

under moonlight

wild and free

*

One that will

venture with me

into the mountains

under the stars

*

And not think twice

about leaving

the matrix behind

love poems
