Whirly Squirrely

a day in a squirrel's life

Whirly Squirrelly stretching far,

Fluffs his tail and starts to yawn.

He must go get some extra fuel

If he is going to keep his cool.

Whirly Squirrelly sees a car.

The car will keep him up to par!

Scampering into the road,

Whirly Squirrelly’s very bold.

One, two, three! He hops around,

Squeaking wheels skid on the ground.

Leaping right between the tires,

Now awake, he’s feeling wired!

Squirrelly scurries to the curb,

Squirrelly now can get to work!

Whirly Squirrelly down the way

Stops. He will show off to Bae.

He will compete with all the squirrels

To see who can impress the girls.

Hurry, hurry! Get your nuts!

Scampering squirrels go rush! Rush! Rush!

Hoarding acorns, they will store

Them for the winter. More! More! More!

More nuts! More nuts!

They hurry, scurry,

Up and down the tree goes Squirrelly.

He’s the fastest brightest squirrel.

He puffs his chest out to the girl.

Bae is hairbrained, Soft, and sweet.

Slim and fit, she barely eats.

She chatters with her two front teeth,

And watches Squirrelly now compete.

Squirrelly notices a squirrel

Who stops to do a biceps curl.

Bae is looking at this squirrel.

It isn’t right! She’s Squirrelly’s girl!

Squirrelly knows that isn’t fair.

He springs from tree out into air.

Then claws and paws and teeth are scratching,

Squeaking, biting, tearing, lashing,

In ball of of fur, the two go tumbling

Through the grass and on, they’re fumbling

For the upper paw to prove

Who’s better fit and frisky. Whew!

Whirly Squirrelly wins the fight!

He dusts his paws, and smiles bright.

He chases Bae on up a tree

Where they can live most happily.
