Where Were You Then, Where Are You Now
Why do you hate me momma
Momma, Momma where are you at,
How could you leave us like that?
Do you blame us for your miserable life?
You cut us off with your biggest knife.
You walked away and never looked back,
A mother's instinct is something you lack.
Where were you when I needed you most,
You left and moved away to the west coast.
You didn't care enough to stay,
Over the years you have continued to push me away.
Momma, Momma why can't you see,
All I ever wanted was for you to love me.
What did I do to fill you with such a deep hate,
Do you care that it's becoming too late?
Why do you insist on giving nothing but pain,
What's so worth it that you could possibly gain?
Do you hear my cries, see my tears,
Do you even know my fears?
Do you hear me screaming your name,
Momma, Momma why do you ignore me just the same?
Do you have no love inside of your heart,
Do you care that you caused us to fall apart?
Is this really how you want things to end,
You're not a mother, a relative or even a friend.
Momma, Momma where were you then,
When I needed you time and time again.
Momma, Momma where are you now,
Living your lies, come take your bow.
