When Love Fades
Or: The Love That Pushes Away
She loves him deeply, with all her heart
But her insecurities tear her apart
Honest and true, she bears her soul
But he's scared, and that takes its toll.
He pushes her away, time and again
Her love for him, driving her insane
Tears roll down as she watches him go,
Leaving her heartbroken, in a state of woe.
Her body, a constant source of doubt,
As she always wants him to stay about.
But he leaves her in the dead of night,
Leaving her with her fears and her fright.
She knows not what to do or say
To make him stay, to make him sway,
Her love for him, strong and pure,
But his fears and doubts, she cannot cure.
The man she loves, she cannot reach
His walls so high, impossible to breach
Her heart aches with every goodbye
As she watches her love, slowly die.
Insecurities, that haunt her soul
As she longs for him to make her whole,
Her love for him, a ray of light
In a world that seems so dark and bright.
Her vulnerability, his greatest fear
As he pushes her away, drawing near
She loves him still, with all her might
But his fear of love, blinds his sight.
So she sits alone, lost in her pain
Her love for him, all in vain
Wishing he'd see, her love so true
And take her in, as she longs him to do.
