What was I Saying?

Don’t you hate it when a word – um…oh yeah – eludes you?

It’s right there, but how to recall it, you don’t have a clue.

Sometimes, you are lucky, and the word just comes to mine.

Other times, your thoughts are credit – your card has been declined.

You might go ask a co-worker, consult with family and friends,

But rarely do they help you out, ‘cause no one comprehends.

Maybe a thesaurus will provide the answer that you seek,

But choosing the right synonym might take a frickin’ week.

I hope my brain continues to be normal lucid, so I’m prayin’.

Then people will understand – wait… what was I just sayin’?
