Two people and their feelings

I never really thought until now

What love is really all about,

Two people and their emotions

Amicably sorting problems out.

***

Two people sticking together

Daily through thick or thin,

Hanging on during tough times

Until happiness begins to win.

***

Making their mundane lives

Be a blessing in disguise,

Even the boring routines

Are exciting in their eyes.

***

It is dreaming of a future

That fairytales do come true,

Knowing they’ll never be alone

As there will always be two.

***

It’s when the sun shines

Even on stormy cloudy days,

When they see their partner

As their loves sunshine rays.

***

During bad and stressful times

One hug can make it all right,

Confident in relaying secrets

Knowing they’ll guard them tight.

***

Waking next to each other

Starts the day off with glee,

Knowing they are not bound

Together they’re totally free.

***

A single hug and a sweet kiss

Understood by their loving heart,

They can talk about anything

As it has been from the start.

***

It’s the trust that each shows

And saying how much they care,

Knowing when they need a shoulder

The other’s will always be there.

About the Creator

Colleen Millsteed

My first love is poetry — it’s like a desperate need to write, to free up space in my mind, to escape the constant noise in my head. Most of the time the poems write themselves — I’m just the conduit holding the metaphorical pen.
