You have no idea why you left
We’re both sure you’ll be back,
You’re struggling to settle down
Not really sure of what you lack.
***
I’m aware of what you’re looking for
Maybe you’ll think to ask me,
But no you’ll end up deciding
You need to be alone and free.
***
Then once you are free again
You’ll find yourself wondering evermore,
What exactly did you hope to gain
Any idea of what you’re looking for?
***
The one thing that you are looking for
Is sitting in front of you, can’t you see,
It’ll just take you to finally open your eyes
The thing you’re looking for is me.

My first love is poetry — it’s like a desperate need to write, to free up space in my mind, to escape the constant noise in my head. Most of the time the poems write themselves — I’m just the conduit holding the metaphorical pen.
