Waiting For a Show

You think they are your friends

they care so much

they want to hear your grievances, happiness and truth

but they are just waiting for a show

the colleagues you talk to

the ones who claim to have your back

maybe what you to say a lot of things

maybe because they are waiting for a show

The ones who claim to care about you the most

are maybe not at all concerned

they are just waiting for a show

they want to hear you complain

or maybe annoy you

want you to put on a show

where they are the audience

and you are the performer

and then they will make sure

the performance is spread far and wide

The performer and the performance become known to everyone

maybe because they were only Interested in a show

they never really care about you at all.

So, don’t complain

and don’t reveal yourself

be as formal as possible

and never give a show

don’t be a clown in the circus

never put up a show

others can clap in.

For those who are waiting for a show

Let them wait.

Wait till forever.
