vivid tangerine

don't look directly at me

nobody can know

the truth of my marigold heat

but if you ask you can see

the persimmon ideas pour

from behind solar eyes

twisted into a terracotta utopia

melting into peach serenity

my heavy ochre heart

like the coral reef, so delicate

a fragile primordial cider

viscous, amber, and organic

foreign perspectives, so melichrous

a tawny reach showing

the experience of rusty miracles

under citrus glows

illuminated by vermillion particles

millions of ways to be orange

always the cautionary flare of embers

some worship the flaming hue

some fear its aurantious allure

but it is known by all things

this lemon epiphany
