Up The Stairway
Lies a very old rich man
Up the stairway
And through the hallway
Lie a very rich old man
He was a stringy little maggot
They called him Scrooge in the end
He had no family, if anyone could tell
Nor any friends to bid farewell
Just his lust for money and gain of power
Now his boy lies stiff and cold
All alone in the corridors of grand
Up the stairway, no one goes
To check on the rich miser's head
The stairway lays as long as may
Till the butler check on the master seat
To find that way he felt no remorse
Just called death preparers to take away
down the very stairway course
Now the stairway lies abandoned
Left alone like the old man
All the riches in the world
Will not bring that place alive again

I can see glimmers of your dystopian self here and why it calls you. What a talent you have. Congrats on the top story!
Enjoyed this. Great job.
Congrats!
congratulations on TS. Really nice twist on Scrooge's Christmas Carol. Love it. Very well written.
Beautifully written. Congrats on the TS.
Oh you stole my Scrooge. I love him so. But the better Scrooge I have yet to meet face to face, I adore your story. Thanks for pointing me to this fascinating challenge. Well met and subscribed.
Quite sad, but well written. Very good
Congratulations on your Top Story,
A great and eerily sad take on the challenge
