Twins
Not identical
But always together
They started this journey with each other
These girls
So soft, so lovely
Though forced apart sometimes
It's never for long
They are reunited by the end of the day
The twins have comforted lovers
Nourished babies
They have seen so many stages of life
Some have abused them
Others have held them close
Cherished them like precious gold
Beautiful twins,
Adventurous and resilient
These lovely two
They didn't ask for the attention they receive
The extra care
The clothing designed just for them
The twins simply are
Soft flesh, supple skin, blood, and muscle
They are her breasts

I grew up in a small town in Oregon. In 2nd grade (circa 1984), I was entered into a poetry contest. I won 3rd place and was awarded a small check and a certificate signed by President George Bush Sr. I have been writing ever since.
