Paralyzed is how I feel
I can hardly believe it's real.
My mind races to the things I need to get done
Yet, I cannot bring myself to start even one.
I hear the words over in my mind
I cannot believe this was the find
I know it's real, I've seen the scans
The news had shattered all my plans
I take a breath, take it in
I don't know where to begin
With a little faith, "a little time, a little hope"
I'll be okay and learn to cope
With helping hands and letting go
I will regain my spark and glow
With friends and family on my side, I'll slowly feel alive
If I keep looking forward, I will survive

KAT Hunt
I grew up in a small town in Oregon. In 2nd grade (circa 1984), I was entered into a poetry contest. I won 3rd place and was awarded a small check and a certificate signed by President George Bush Sr. I have been writing ever since.
