Twelve, a number with significance so grand,

With roots in time, and a history so planned,

It's the number of zodiac signs, in the sky,

And the number of months, that make up a year, so nigh.

It's the number of eggs, in a dozen so neat,

And the number of apostles, who followed Jesus' feet,

It's the number of strokes, in a clock's ticking sound,

And the number of syllables, in a sonnet, profound.

Twelve is a number, that's easily divided,

By two, three, four, and six, with no numbers bidden,

It's a number that's used, in so many ways,

From weights and measures, to the ages of days.

So next time, you see the number twelve,

Take a moment, to appreciate, all it can give,

For it holds a special place, in our lives,
