Lost and spent
the treasure is lost, never to be found again,
gone without a trace, without knowing what's within?
where to search for this value so true,
where to find the real me, the real you,
for we are treasures this is true.
we are bound by the priceless virtues of love,
bound by the good, the hope from above.
yet we revolt, sever the binding,
search without finding, lives unwinding.
glorious are the righteous, persecuted with intent,
resisting what is meant, devouring all we resent,
fleeing the beast, harboring refuge within the fortress of repent,
finding favor in hours spent
seeking answers, with honest content!
