The restlessness kept growing

And he could not hold still

Moving around and fidgeting

he figured it was time to set sail

So began the journey, the search

Tired of waiting all these years

Overcoming fears of just a mirage

It was time to take things into his hands

Started within the familiar waters

Made some startling discoveries along the way

Before charging into the uncharted territories

'Familiar' was an overstatement so to say

Disappointed but with undeterred intuition

The comfort of known landscapes though enticing

It was time to pack up and move on

Not settling for anything less kept him going

Experiencing novelty is a reward in its own

Breath-taking views unfolding from a dream

Everything pretty and rosy with beauty overflown

Carefully hiding the inner chaos scream

But the strong winds snapped him out of the trance

Too good to be true said the cynic's brain

The damage had been done

And all left for the romantic was pain

But the ship kept floating and sailing

Treading slowly along the calm water

Was this before or after the storm, kept him wondering

Finally arriving at the treasure island he set out for

Everything for this one moment of glory

He off-boarded, launching the anchor

Digging for hours until his fingers started aching

he finally struck gold and found the treasure - a mirror.
