Anxiety overwhelms me

I fight to remain calm.

Focus, step by step

Sorting, cleaning, packing.

Moving AGAIN or a weekend getaway

The shifting from one space to another.

Leaving

Away from my stuff.

What stuff to bring?

What if it’s hot?

What if it’s cold?

What if plans change?

Up all night

The house MUST be clean.

Why?

WHAT IF?

Exhausted.

Double-check

Keys, wallet, ID, phone, meds.

Triple-check

Doors, windows, stove.

Hesitate.

Close the door behind me.

Relief!

On to the next “home”

Trailer, boat, hotel, next location

Any, and all are home now.

Until I must leave there too.

Well, hello there, my old friend

Welcome back anxiety!
