And It Talked Back At Me

I tried talking to my friends,

But no one was talking back,

So, I turned and faced a wall,

And I had a really good yack!

I told it all my woes,

And complained shamelessly;

I swore and stamped my feet,

And it told me;

"That was pretty neat!"

I turned to face my friends,

And I began to speak;

But they ignored me,

Which made life a little bleak.

So, once more I turned to the wall,

And asked,

"How do I look?"

The wall replied to me,

And told me

"I could eat you up!"

I stared at it in horror,

Feeling as crazy as

My hat of flowers.

I went to change again,

But the daft wall stopped me;

"You look delicious my precious!"

It said.

I decided not to change,

Though I felt a little insane!

I turned to face my friends,

And finally, they spoke!

"You look good,"

They told me;

Followed by,

"We could eat you up."

I told them that I knew,

And they asked;

"And, you were told by who?"

I simply replied

"The wall!"

And they asked me,

"Did you have a ball?"
