I see you, your messy hair and cold cups of coffee
Laundry piled high,dishes untouched
while whispers of judgment about your unclean house are made
I see you, with your thrown together outfit ready to rush out the door
Late for something I’m sure
I see you, hiding away alone stressed
Wondering are they all better off without you
Daydreaming of all the goals you had set for yourself
Independent mind with a fierce attitude to match
You saw the world and wanted it to be yours
But I see you, your art does not go unnoticed
With how you gracefully swallow the entire world
Without a hesitation
Your children, our children
They are our work of art
Artists carefully invest and plan
Gather all the pieces for the final showcase
I see you, watching;
embracing the masterpiece you have created
So carefully with your entire soul
They will not break
for the foundation you have used is a mix of
All the artists who have come before you
With their same cold cups of coffee
And tired worn hands
Desperate to remember who they are
You are, the Unseen artist
But I see you.
