To the Spirit or Demon Who May One Day Possess My Body

A poem about physical and mental pain

To the spirit or demon

who may one day possess my body,

I am sorry, truthfully.

I'm sorry my bones creak,

And pop,

And crack.

I'm sorry my muscles ache,

All the time.

I'm sorry it hurts all the time,

No matter what.

I’m sorry my body’s broken,

Some parts unrepairable,

Some parts can't be fixed.

To the spirit or demon

who may one day possess my body,

I’m sorry if you can see what's in my head.

If you can recall memories,

Or thoughts,

Or ideas.

I’m sorry I’m always sad,

Or scared,

Or panicked.

All the time, every day.

To the spirit or demon

who may one day possess my body,

I’m sorry.
