Those Eyes

Always far away are we

But still we hold on

For with the feel of your arms wrapped around me

My mind, doubts, fears and woes are gone

The feel of your skin as it brushes against mine

And even more the look in those eyes

Those eyes in which I long to get lost

Into which I want to fall

And drown in the ocean’s calm

Pools filled with chocolate soft as silk

With a feel that comforts like warm milk

Those eyes that hide you from all

But show only me who you are

They show few signs of how you feel

But in them I look and I see it all

Your hopes, your dreams, your fears

Where I see what is truly real

Those eyes that dote upon me so

They never leave me

Making me feel safe as can be

As if your purpose were only to protect me

Your eyes that I miss when you’re gone

But remind me just to hold on

For if we had our way together we would be gone

But still don’t stay away too long
