You looked like a movie star with those caramel eyes.

Tall, dark your skin looked like polished brunt brass.

Your smile those pearls in your mouth radiated.

I stared at you very hard hoping to get your attention.

Finally, you looked across the room at me.

I tried to look away however couldn't.

Then you walked my way and I started to move.

Frozen still all I could do was smile.

You stood close me and asked my name.

My tongue was frozen for a moment.

I finally after about 10 seconds told you who I was.

Then you said, "You look nice." I said thank you.

My smile grew wider and eventually I giggled.

"You look nice too." Oh boy, I have blown it.

Where do you go to school? I answered with no giggle.

Then you made fun of my school mascot and my team.

Oh really! "What school do you go to? " I asked.

Then you said the name and you were right about my school.

Your team were the state champions! In fact, they won a lot!

Best track team, best football team, etc.

Then you asked for my phone number. Of course, I said no.

Must not be too easy. Then I said bye and walked away.

Now alone at home I said to myself...stupid!

You will never see him again.

It was now Sunday, time for church.

Sitting in the pew close to the front. My mother's favorite place.

I look up and there you were. Those caramel eyes and pearly white teeth.

I smiled and you said hi again! Then you slipped me a note.

It had your phone number on it, and you asked me to call you.

Slipping it in my purse so my mom could not see.

I smiled all through the service. Just thinking about what I was going to say to you.
