kindness, joy, love & compassion: antidotes for this world.

in a world that is so f🤍cked up

we can still choose love

and kindness and joy.

we can still choose gratitude

and generosity and patience.

every ailment of society

has an antidote to treat the symptom

and these healing balms

are free and accessible

to all of us who walk this earth.

to love with compassionate kindness

in the face of attempted divide

is to come out from the places of hiding

that fear has placed us in.

to patiently seek to understand

through asking questions

rather than slapping a trending label

on your neighbour

who see’s the world through a different lens is to choose to move forward

towards peace and reconciliation.

capitalism wants us divided

so it can provide us with the solutions

but the solutions certainly cannot be bought or sold

because a joyful heart is priceless

in a world that feeds on despair.

the solutions to all that ails

are non tangible…

when we open ourselves to live a more sensual life, and by this i mean living with all our senses awake within each experience,

we can move beyond linearity

and know that what we know as true

can be altered by expanding our views.

i came to this life to be awake,

to shake myself from the chains of inner oppression,

to break patterns passed down from my colonial ancestors,

to feel the ache in my heart when i suppress and close down,

to swim against the current of society

and find my own flow,

to know myself as love and compassion

and kindness and joy,

to mend wounds

and build bridges

and say prayers

and inspire souls

and hold the light

as a tool of collective illumination.

i came here to remember

to be reminded

to re-member

all the fragmented parts of myself

that i had shunned

and pushed down and away

as a form of protection

when i was in need of respite.

i might not get it right all the time,

in fact i know i most certainly don’t,

but i can still be kind to myself

when i make these mistakes

because kindness to self

is an act of self care

and an act of self care

will always ripple into the atmosphere.

and so it shall be.

co-creatrix of the new earth

where we all thrive

and live alive with our bodies

minds and spirits in tact.
